During a recent trip to Tassie with a friend, we stumbled upon the charming town of Oatlands and decided to have lunch at the local pub, The Kentish. It was so good, we ended up going back twice! The food was absolutely incredible, and we even went out of our way on the return trip just to enjoy another round of their delicious arancini balls and cheeseburger spring rolls. Both were bursting with flavour and unlike anything we expected from a pub menu!

What really sets The Kentish apart is its wonderful and unexpected fusion of cuisines. We were thrilled to find Asian-inspired dishes like the pork bao buns and the Massaman lamb shank. Each dish was perfectly executed, and the blend of flavours was a delightful surprise.

The decor is a beautiful mix of old-world charm and modern style, creating a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. It’s the kind of place where you can easily settle in for hours and enjoy the relaxed, welcoming vibe. We’re already planning to come back and experience a weekend there while the garden is open with live music—it sounds like the perfect spot to unwind! We had a sneak at the accommodation too and they are beautifully styled for a weekend away in comfort. Will have to try them next time.

Overall, The Kentish is an absolute gem in Oatlands, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re passing through or looking for a reason to go out of your way, this pub is worth the visit. 10/10 would...

Me and my friends popped in for a quick meal while we charged up the Tesla. We had spent 40 minutes looking over the menu on the drive there, only to discover that we were looking at the Kentish in ADELAIDE! But boy oh boy were we impressed by the INCREDIBLE and genuine customer service at The Kentish Tasmania. I have to give a shout out to the lady (didn’t get her name) who has been there 15 years (or is it two weeks? She’s still learning…) for her warm, sweet hospitality. We got the brisket burger and a whole bunch of cabinet sweets to keep us going for the remainder of the trip up to Launceston. Everything was delicious and fresh. I believe the sweeties are baked onsite as well, but don’t quote me on that. 10/10 would recommend to anyone...

I recently dined at the Kentish Hotel and had a fantastic experience. My waitress, Tamika, was friendly and attentive, ensuring that our experience was enjoyable from start to finish.

As for the food, the brisket burger and chicken burger were both excellent. The meat was cooked to perfection - the brisket was tender and juicy, and the chicken was moist and flavorful. The burgers were served on brioche buns with a variety of tasty toppings, making for a truly delicious meal.

Overall, I highly recommend the Kentish Hotel for anyone looking for a great food on Oatlands and excellent service. Tamika was a standout waitress, and the food was top-notch. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant...

We called in here at The Kentish Hotel for a quick meal before driving on to Hobart. We both had Chicken Parmies and were shocked when they arrived, as they were huge, but oh so yummy! I had roast veggies and they were delicious. There is no way we could have eaten the whole meal and were offered a box to take the rest home. The service was great, so friendly. Oatlands is a beautiful place to stop, approximately half way between Launceston and Hobart with lots of beautiful Georgian homes. Call in to The Kentish for Pub food you would be sure to enjoy.

We visited Oatland for the weekend trip from Hobart, and just stopped by this cafe for break time. I tried Bacon Egg roll and a piece of cheesecake. Those food made me suprised, It was devine!! Especially, the cheesecake was creamy and perfect, no doubt, this cake is the one of the best cheesecake in Southern Tasmania area. And, My husband bought second bacon egg roll. It was actually tasty and we need one more🤣 I'll buy it again when I visit Oatland next time.

Not once but twice! We came back for breaky after dinner at the invitation of the charming host/owner. This beautiful family owned local pub is a must stop on your journey through Oatlands. Full of heart and soul. Currently doing renovations but still full of style and class. Great food. Great service. Try it out and experience some good old hospitality.
