The Possum Shed Cafe — Restaurant in Tasmania

A beautiful cafe restaurant isolated in the beautiful forests and amongst the farms. The location is on the way to some amazing hikes in the mountains with waterfalls. So get a quick energy fix before you reach there. Their coffee is great, the milkshakes and hot chocolates are nice and the serving sizes are very generous for very reasonable prices. The food stands out here. There isn't much to choose from but the food they do make is incredible. They have a few vegan and vegetarian options. The flavours are simple and very fresh, most likely sourcing vegetables and fruits from the nearby farms. There are a lot of options for seating here. Tables inside and seeveral unique benches outside overlooking the beautiful river. It is truly a wonderful and authentic experience in the woods. There are very well maintained bathrooms to use. Tassie has done it again, I think is the third best I've eaten experiences in this trip. I can't remember having a better burger. I got take away but the atmosphere in this place is really upbeat and friendly. This is available on the take away menu, I added pineapple and bacon from memory. $27 but worth every cent. Look at the size of this thing, the only bad thing is now I will be comparing all burgers to this masterpiece and I just don't think anything will compare. So damn good!! I'll definitely be back next year on my next trip, even if it means a big detour from my itinerary. You have to try it put it on your bucket list...

5 stars is not enough! Wife and I stopped for a quick lunch. Was told there is a wee bit of a wait, no problem, I could sit next to that river all day and listen to trickling water looking for platypus. We got our burger and a salmon bagel. Wife couldn’t finish the burger in one sitting but did finish. I inhaled my bagel.
