The hot and sour soup was delicious. Would go back again for another taste. The Thai basil chicken was very dry, almost like defrosted breast, so can’t recommend it for the price.
The staff were friendly, though I agree with the other reviews here that they need more training. There were enough errors (e.g. not knowing what an entre is, having to go up and remind the staff that we need bowls to serve our dishes into, not checking on drink refills or how to spot a teapot to refill, no chopsticks - just the take away wooden ones, etc.) that I became nervously expectant of more errors, which impacted the experience.
At the end of the night, the young staff member shoved the PayPass machine toward me with a “there.” With the night’s experience leaving me concerned there could be an error in the bill, I asked for the bill. She pushed the PayPass machine closer toward me and said “there it is.” When I asked again, and finally a third time, clarifying that I wanted to see the list of items, she responded as if I had been difficult, handing it over before turning away without another word.
I know the staff are young, and know what it can be like. I worked in Chinese restaurants from 16 years old. More training can improve diner and staff experience alike. For the diner’s piece of mind, and for the staff’s soft skills and ability to confidently avoid needless conflict.
The atmosphere was bustling. Congratulations on the great numbers for a...
Read moreCame here for lunch and ordered a Fried Kuey Teow and was the only table apart from a group. While looking at the menu, it was surprising to see the price of the main dishes for lunch at $17-$19. But that surprise went out the door when the meal arrived. The dish was small and when I say small, I mean enough to fill up a kid definitely not a hungry adult.
The dish itself was ok but it was heavy on the onions for some reason and have very few of basically everything apart from the onion. There was no real wok hei and even though a woke was heard in the back, it just seemed like boiled noodles. Bit of a shame, so much so I had to order sushi after this to be somewhat full which was quite tasty although again small for size.
Had always wanted to come here for years so when I actually did I just felt disappointed, so instead I'll just await to head back to Perth before getting Asian food.
However the one plus was the service, the young Asian lady at the front of counter was really friendly...
Read moreFood was decent, but the service really let the experience down.
When we arrived, there was only one other table occupied. We ordered and the food came out quickly, which was great. Everything was okay up until then.
As the place started to fill up, more staff came on, but the service became chaotic. Each time a different waitress came to our table, and it took over 20 minutes just to get a coffee and a tea.
We had also asked to pack up what was left to take home. The waitress said it was ok, but no one ever came back to bring containers or clear the plates. By the time the drinks arrived, the table was still full of dirty dishes. When I asked another staff member for takeaway containers, she asked how many I needed instead of just checking what was left. So I needed to ask a third time to the person in charge.
The lack of coordination and slow, inconsistent service made the overall experience...
