Delicious food & picturesque views of the Tumbulgum River in the most magical garden setting. This quaint little house has both a beautiful restaurant and gift shop. Perfect for high tea, bridal showers or baby showers. The gardens are well cared for and it was wonderful to explore the different plants and show the children the fresh herbs, coffee tree, passionfruit vine, olive tree, spinach and the most amazing wisteria tree intertwined over the pergola.
Out the back was an authentic firewood pizza oven that wasn’t operational today but there was a sign saying Pizza’s Friday night 5 -8:30pm. We look forward to going back on a Friday night for delicious pizzas.
The meals we had today were delicious. The children had fish and chips, we also had Vietnamese salad and duck spring rolls, Club sandwich and the salmon. Read moreWe went for lunch today; don't bother. The main lunch menu has 4 choices , one is a toasted Sandwich of the day. Surprise: Cheese Ham and Tomato. I ordered 2 scrambled eggs on toast and asked if I could possibly have the tomato swapped for avocado. I was charged an extra 3 dollars for the privilege of 2 teaspoons of not so fresh avocado. My partner had fish and chips. Tasted okay, but just frozen fish and chips dropped into a deep fryer. Nothing fancy, nothing home made. Mayo from a Jar. If you are looking for a really good lunch then drive next door to the Tumbulgum Pub. The food comes from a 4 star kitchen, fresh, original, local produce and mega serves. Best lunch in town, forget about the House of Gabriel, the biggest disappointment for a long time. Two stars for...

I was initially taken aback by the female in charge and thought she was quite rude, but later realised she is shy and not really a people person. She was a bit more polite after we engaged with her in conversation. I ordered the scrambled eggs on sourdough and they were a beautiful golden colour - a sign of lovely fresh eggs. The bread was the right thickness and toasted to perfection. I also ordered a cappuccino which may very well have been the best coffee I have had in a long time - perfect amount of froth and the flavour of the coffee was amazing. The decor and setting was lovely - overlooking the...
