Neptune’s Cafe — Restaurant in Two Rocks

I’m writing this review as I’m still waiting for a small takeaway chips, 27min +counting…..the view is nice…if you’ve got time to waste…

Update: It took over half hour for my takeaway order, kids that ordered their large chips 15min after me got their serving first, when I queried this I didn’t get an apology, she just walked off the get me a serve. The only person who grimaced apologetically was the barista girl, she was the only one who had any customer service skills, speed or sense of purpose. Every one else (+I had a lot of time to view this) walked backwards +forwards aimlessly, wiping hands on aprons, looking around lost or triple checking order dockets. My boyfriend who ordered his coffee 20min after me got his coffee +finished it before I got my simple order of chips. At least his service +coffee was nice. I understand that there are busy periods +mistakes happen, orders get lost, but no apology is...

Great location with a very nice view. But a very odd and inconsistent product is delivered. I have visited five times for hash browns in the past month, as detailed below.

First visit... Triangle Hash Browns, two pieces.

Second visit... Circle Hash Browns, three pieces.

Third visit... Triangle Hash Browns, two pieces.

Fourth visit... Circle Hash Browns, two pieces.

Fifth Visit.... Thin Rectangle Hash Browns, six pieces. We ordered two lots this time because the previous four visits had smaller hash browns so now we had to feed an excess to the gulls.

In my view, small businesses in towns such as Two Rocks ought to offer a good value and consistent product if they wish to generate more repeat business. People get tired of paying their money and hoping (rather than expecting) that it will be the product...

I want to like it here so bad, but it just misses the mark. The food is fine but I wouldn't go out my way. The view is nice, but the entire place needs a facelift. I'm unsure of whether the owners can get any assistance with that, but I wouldn't say it's not a busy place, so I don't really see the excuse. There are young and inexperienced people working here, so you get what you get with them, which is generally not much. I would go as far to say, that it lacks any appeal what so ever. I guess it is mostly tourism that funds it, but it should and doesn't have to be. Just do something different. Or really... be left behind. It won't be long before a newer and more appealing cafe...
