I’ve always loved stopping at this little cafe, as the food is great and it’s a beautiful setting. Sadly however, I’ll be giving it a hard pass from now on. It appears that the new owners - who are clearly very devout - are blatantly using the establishment to endorse and advertise their religious beliefs, from the religious sayings and signs strategically placed around the store (a psalm directly in front of the sugar jars?!) to the religious music being played. I found it incredibly uncomfortable and off putting to have to listen to songs of praise with lyrics ‘hallelujah’ this and ‘Jesus’ that while trying to enjoy my coffee. We may as well have gone to a church service. Hubby and I would have stayed for a second coffee and lunch but we chose to leave instead as we did not go there to have someone else’s religion shoved in our faces. To be clear, I am completely respectful of everyone’s right to believe in what they choose, but the new owners have taken it a step too far in a public establishment that’s meant to welcome everyone. All they’ve done is turned us off what was a real favourite of ours and it’s such a shame that they couldn’t separate what’s personal from what’s...

This is probably one of the best stop you can ever make! The place and the location are beautiful. The owners are extremely lovely and kind, they adapted to my dietary requirements and made me the best vegan toasty I ever had! They also have fresh local products that are very good quality, they obviously cook with them. The sourdough bread is to die for. I could not have any pastry/cakes because they were not vegan. But my partner told me they were super delicious too! It was so good that we came back at the end of our trip with some friends for my partner's birthday and they brought him a complimentary muffin. Thanks again for the...

I live on the Gold Coast and I drive 3 hours just to stock up on these pies – that’s how good they are! Honestly, they’re the best pies I’ve ever had! The flavours are absolutely on point and the range is vast, so there’s something to satisfy every craving. The pastry is always golden and flakey, packed with generous filling that makes every bite perfect. The take-home frozen packets are a lifesaver – I always grab extra to keep my freezer stocked so I never run out. The atmosphere is on point and the owner is so lovely. Whether you’re heading to Grafton or just passing through, this place is...

This must be one of the North Coast’s best kept secrets. Hidden away in sleepy Ulmarra is this oasis of tranquility, great food, excellent coffee and friendly service. Just far enough away from the main road the cafe has a mix of indoor seating and outdoor seating that feels almost like you’ve got the whole place to yourself. Even the music is peaceful. The food looks amazing. The pies are impressive (are they homemade? They look homemade. ) with a range of varieties. This definitely a return visit for food, coffee and a pie to take home.

An absolute must. Recommended to us driving from Evans Head to Grafton. Im a big pie fan - sampling plenty across the country over the years travelling - and what an absolute delight. Beautiful shop front, lovely welcome by the staff, and the pies
Started with the Pepper Beef.. outstanding. Then the Vindaloo. Delicious. Up their with best ever. Owners deservedly proud of what they make. Coffee wonderful too. And what a lovely town to visit.

We had a wonderful experience this morning having a very tasty big breakfast with delicious chai lattes. In a very nice courtyard. The company and chat with owner Kylie made everything perfect. But the icing on the cake was the carrot cake with superb icing! Can recommend to anyone needing a break when driving this area. Ulmarra is a perfect heritage village. All the best Kylie.
