I feel somewhat intimidated in leaving this review based on replies to other low ratings/ reviews but feel that what I experienced today should be called out in the hope that no other customers have to experience something similar. Reading other reviews shows that this experience is unfortunately not a once off.
We are also a local family and have tried many times to really embrace this cafe but after many lack lustre experiences with both food and completely disinterested wait staff and today's appalling (lack of) customer service we are unlikely to ever come back.
Had just finished a decent coffee with my mum when my dad popped in to meet us. He ordered a coffee as ours had looked nice. However when it arrived he took a sip and immediately commented it didn't taste right like it was actually the wrong drink. I took a sip and agreed it definitely did not taste like the half strength cappuccino that we had recently finished ourselves. I politely took it over to the counter and explained to the wait staff and asked if we could please have a new coffee as it didn't taste right. She took it from me and went to the lady making the coffees who immediately began getting cross so she brought it back to us saying there was nothing wrong with it. Again I politely explained the problem with the coffee and said it simply didn't taste right like it was maybe the wrong milk or something and that's when the the lady making the coffees barged through and started to rudely tell me there was nothing wrong with the coffee - and that being a half shot of coffee it would taste different and it was what we ordered. Again I calmly explained that it simply didn't taste right and perhaps it was the wrong milk or something but she was adamant there was nothing wrong with the drink. I asked if she could please make us a new one but she exclaimed that we would have to pay to have a new one if we wanted them to remake it - which completely shocked me. Her entire manner was abrasive, rude and she was giving off very angry vibes. I couldn't understand why she was so angry when it was a simple fix - just make a new coffee even if we had to wait for it which I had totally anticipated. She flat out refused to make a new one going as far to say "I can't taste it because I don't drink milk but there's nothing wrong with it!!" At this point I said well could I please have a refund as it was simply undrinkable. This inflamed her even more and she aggressively said "you can't just change your mind and get a refund when THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS ONE!!" I calmly reiterated that something was amiss with the drink so she eventually relented throwing her hands up in the air and raiding the tip jar to refund us. My legs were shaking as the whole situation escalated way beyond what could have easily been such a simple fix and wouldn't have required me to write this review.
It was a horrible end to our catch up and as we left the cafe I spoke with a patron outside who commented the same lady had been rude and aggressive to other staff and the customers in front of them while they were waiting to order. Clearly not a good day but please don't take it out on patrons who are trying to support your...
Read moreI attended with my 3 year old child. I wanted to buy food and drink, take away, so we could go to the park next door.
I had a really bad experience with the cafe in particular the staff.
Firstly, I observed that the staff could not handle the number of customers and were mixing up orders. I was told there was a 20 minute wait for coffees, which was fine so I skipped that and just ordered a cupcake, a foccacia and bottle of water for my child.
I was served by Lana. She forgot about my order and left the sandwich sitting in the grill for 15 minutes. Another staff member realised and took it out and left it sitting on the bench. I saw flies hovering around it. It was brought to Lana's attention who then tried to hide the fact it was overcooked and burnt. I saw her use he body weight to cut it because that's how overcooked it was. She then tried to give it to me, which I said that I had seen it sitting in the press for an extended period then left on the counter. I checked the sandwich and it was so burnt that a piece snapped off.
I raised that I was not happy and no longer wanted the sandwich. I said that if they could not keep up with the amount of people, then they needed think twice about the number of people they served. I never yelled or raised my voice, I only raised my concern. The cafe were clearly exceeding density limits and could not not keep up with orders. As I was waiting, I saw another staff member on the coffee machine continually apologise to customers as orders were getting mixed up. I was then yelled at in front of other customers by the lady on the coffee machine and told to leave simply because I was not happy about my sandwich as it was for my daughter and there is no way she could have eaten it given how overcooked it was. My child was very upset by what she saw. This was completely humiliating. I had to explain to my child why the lady yelled and why we could not stay, which no child should have to see. This is extremely poor...
Read moreI am going to start this review by saying, I feel like the only reason this cafe is still open is purely by the fact there is nothing close by for the locals in this growing estate. I found the service to be quite rude and the takeaway shakes and babycino we got weren't anything impressive.
To start, I went to the counter to place an order, based off their menu that's advertised on their website to be glared at and told that the drinks I tried to order were from a menu that was over four years old (So maybe the problem is, this business needs to update their website as many people pre check menus due to dietary requirements) So I continued to get weirdly looked at until I asked for an update to date menu and I selected two shakes and a babycino quickly and waited to the side for my order to be prepared after paying.
Once our shakes were ready and I was asked to come over and collect, I asked my friend who was waiting outside to grab the shakes as I had my hands full with my two kids. I mentioned to my friend in passing (we were standing over two meters away from the counter), I'm just waiting for the babycino (and then I would be right out) but I didn't even get to finish my sentence as the barista rudely stated whilst rolling her eyes, I know you are waiting for it, I'm just making it now. I thought this was very abrasive and uncalled for, as I had not asked the barista directly where the drink was, just trying to have a conversation with a friend that I was still waiting for an item and I would be out in a moment.
When the babycino was made, it was placed on the counter and I was given an extremely unpleasant look. After walking outside I found that it had been only half filled which was really...
