Booked a table for two for our wedding anniversary at this establishment last night. I asked for a table in a quiet spot as advised it is our anniversary when booking. Upon arriving we are chaperoned to a table that is crammed in between two loud sets of people that is no more than .5 m apart, though there was other seating available in the main room. When it came time to order the waiter informed us that 2 of the entree and 2 of the 4 main items - including the only ones we were interested in ordering - were no longer available. It would have been nice to have been informed this upon arriving, rather than after 20 minutes and ordering drinks, so that we could have decided if we wanted to stay or go somewhere else. Would love to say what the food was like, but we decided to go as it was a special night and we wanted a really special dinner, not pasta or burgers, which was seemingly all that was left at 7pm on a Saturday night. The young waiter was great, very apologetic, and obviously in a difficult position. Disappointing that the gentleman - manager or owner - that served when we went to pay made little effort to atone for this, simply responded that it was a shame there was "nothing to tempt you" on the remaining menu. More understanding that we were dissapointed with the situation on a special occasion would have been appreciated. We then had to scramble to find somewhere else to eat, which is not easy at 7.30 on a Saturday night in tourist season. Read morePopped in over the weekend, 15 percent surcharge straight up, ok. Ordered, paid and got sat down outside in full sun with multiple other tables available, ok. Food took a while to arrive and our drinks didn't arrive with it, I asked where they were and I was assured they were going to get them. 10 minutes later I asked again and was told they were coming, 15 minutes later I asked again and was told to join the line again to ask at the till. By now my breakfast was finished and totally disrupted. When I arrived at the till I asked for a refund, to I assume one of the two new managers 😂 .. not sure if that's the correct term as the cafe wasn't nearly as busy as I have seen it on a weekend and boy were they making it look hard to manage. When asking for the refund the barista overheard and said it was being done in order, not correct as the other manager pardon the miss use of the term again, had been pumping through 30 odd takeaways to stop them waiting and clearly must have pushed our table order back. No apology was offered for the wait but an excuse was provided yet again as to how busy they were and I got my refund after lining up for a solid 10 more minutes. Here is a tip, go across the road for the better food and coffee. The sad thing is I was willing to give this cafe another go, but it's gotten worse. Read morePlaced our order & waited. On each table was a caddy for cutlery, napkins & sugars etc. Every single one of them on every outside table was empty, except for the sugars. Most of them were empty packets put back in. After 10 minutes, the owner came & asked if we could move to a smaller table to accommodate a larger group. He stated he would change our table number with our order. At no time were we thanked for doing this. The people were at the table for only a couple of minutes before they moved inside to another table. Meanwhile we waited. Another group came along & sat at our original table. Meanwhile we waited. After 30 minutes we saw that the larger group inside had been served their drinks & their food was starting to come out. Meanwhile we waited. Our food was finally brought out - to our original table! Meanwhile we waited for our drinks. One drink arrived 40 minutes after ordering - at our original table. Meanwhile the other 2 waited. The 2nd drink arrived about 5 minutes later - at our original table. After an hour they were asked where the 3rd drink was. Still waiting! Meanwhile the large group had almost finished, as had the group at our original table. It was obvious the larger group was either family or “valued customers” because of the treatment they received.
