Located on main strip, bench settings with umbrellas out the front or a nice beachside grassy area with picnic tables directly opposite the bakery so location is awesome. Unfortunately the seafood pies were sold out at about 12.30 but ordered the smashed avo from the all day breakfast menu. At $13.50, thought it was good value and loved their take on it. Sweet chilli style tomato relish and a balsamic type glaze, Delicious. My husband wished you could order & pay for an extra pce in bread but i think perfect size.... because it left room for me to try their strawberry tart which was great quality. Fresh crisp strawberries, bucketload of custard and a pastry base that was hard enough not to have gone soggy. What a gem in the heart of the Gippsland Lakes. Only 11 km from Lakes Entramce is this destination Bakery thst has the formula worked out. Tradional toasties came with generous fillins and were hot and scrumptious. Ham and salad sandwich needed bigger slices of bread, I will choose the roll next time, and only sliced in half, not quarters. Curried egg sandwiches were just right. There is an extensive range of soft drinks. Sadly, the attractions of Bundaberg Ginger Beer negated a sampling of coffees and milk shakes. Fantastic service & beautiful pastries! The lovely staff at Metung Bakery were so kind and helpful, doing two separate deliveries to my family during COVID. It was so nice to be able to surprise them with something yummy while the community was in isolation, and also recovering from a horrible fire season. Nothing was too much trouble. They made up a gorgeous selection tray of pastries and slices, and my family have not stopped raving about how delicious they were. Not too sweet, just beautiful.
