I’ve been eating at cafes for over 40 years and I have never complained. My experience at Chill Espresso was anything but Chill. First our order came out wrong, the food was horrible but that doesn’t bother me. It was the barista that was the problem. Never in my life have I meet a ruder more horrid woman. Ordered a simple pot of hot water and a coffee with lunch. After 45 mins still no hot water. Asked for the hot water again. Just being out of hospital with a serious heart condition I need to use a certain tea bag. She didn’t like this. I was more than happy to pay for the hot water! I asked her if I could please have it as I needed a drink to take my medication that was now 45 minutes overdue. She flew out from behind the counter and came flying at me with an aggressive tone. Yelling in my face. When I returned to my table she came at me again. I asked her to please leave me alone as I was feeling very unwell and was just trying to enjoy a catch up with my friend. But she kept going! When she returned inside she started slandering me and my lovely friend for absolutely no reason. As my pot of water had now been placed on the table with no cup to drink from I simply went into the $2 shop and brought some paper ones. The food was also horrible. But it was edible. Once again bad food and drinks don’t bother me. Worst customer service experience of my life. I eat out most days. I don’t know how this barista is in employment. Being a senior manager myself for many years all I can say is if she worked for me she would be fired immediately. No wonder why this cafe has such bad 3 Star reviews. This barista is running the business into the ground. I feel so sorry for who ever owns this cafe. I hope they manage to stay open. I’ve had multiple friends warn me about this girl but this was my first experience with her in person. Aggressive and nasty young woman. They also got our food order wrong and forgot our salad but that’s not of a...
Read moreWent in for breakfast today with a friend and my daughter. What started off as a pleasant experience ended on a really disappointing note.
We ordered two coffees and a kids hot chocolate. A drink with marshmallows was brought out to my daughter and we were told it was her hot chocolate. She drank half of it before our other drinks arrived — only then did we realise she’d actually been given a coffee.
We also ordered the mushroom benedict, which came out cold and had basically one mushroom. The beetroot hummus on the plate was also really unpleasant.
We politely asked to speak to the manager. Instead, the girl working the coffee machine refused to get him and tried to handle it herself. When we calmly explained the issues and asked for a refund, she became extremely rude and defensive. She insisted on seeing the food to prove we hadn’t eaten it all, and then blamed us for not knowing the drink wasn’t hot chocolate — despite the fact their own staff had said it was.
Only when the owner finally came out — after we asked for him repeatedly — did things turn around. He immediately apologised and issued a refund with no fuss. If he had been brought out in the first place like we asked, the whole situation could’ve been avoided.
That said, shoutout to the petite brunette girl with the big smile on the till — your friendly attitude stood out and was genuinely...
Read moreWe've been here before, but this will be our last time. We ordered the Southern Style Chicken Burger with a side of chips. Chips were fine. The Burger was not. For what you pay, I certainly expected better. 1 small slice of lettuce, 1 small slice of tomato that didn't even cover 1/4 of the roll and avocado that was runny. The chicken, well I actually thought they forgot to put it in. I opened up the Burger to find 2 Nugget size pieces of dried dark chicken peices no bigger than chicken nuggets. I'm thinking they put the double cheese and bacon to hide the fact of the little amount of chicken in a chicken Burger. ...
