Clarkes Pie Cafe is an absolute gem of a find! I stumbled upon it while in need of a break from driving fatigue, and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly and professional team who made my visit truly memorable. Despite being busy around 3pm, everyone - including the other customers - was patient and polite, creating a welcoming atmosphere. My lunch, a breakfast-style burger, was exceptional. Each bite was a delight, and I couldn't get enough of it! To accompany my meal, I ordered a spicy chai with no foam, and it was made to perfection - just the right temperature and full of flavor. The interior of the cafe is simple yet cozy, with timber tables and chairs that allow for both intimate and group seating arrangements. While I didn't get to experience the outdoor seating on my visit due to the chilly weather, I can imagine it being a lovely option on warmer days. Additionally, I was pleased to see that public bathrooms were available to guests. Overall, my experience at Clarkes Pie Cafe was fantastic, and I'll definitely be stopping by again next time I'm in the area. That burger is still lingering in my thoughts - it was simply delicious! Highly recommended for anyone in need of a satisfying meal and friendly service.

Drove to Mortlake today to get a good ole Country Egg and Bacon Toasty and Coffee 😊 - apart from the locals pushing in front of us - the Toasty had to be one of the worst we’ve ever had - the Toast was so had and stale it was cutting into my gums - the bacon was like chewing on an old leather boot 🥾, and the egg, well, im not even sure what that was but it was so small it only covered about half - then i had a swig of my Cappuccino with ONE sugar - Sweet Jesus!! - my teeth nearly fell out it had so much sugar in it - it had to have a minimum or 4 sugars in it - minimum - and it was only just Luke warm - Train your staff for crying out loud !!! Mind you - if a person doesn’t even know what ONE teaspoon of sugar is then they shouldn’t be even working there in the first place!!! - like durrr

A delightful family owned shop on our way to the Grampians - the staff were lovely and friendly and the pies were delicious. Generous filling and flaky, served piping hot! We got the original beef and pepper.

Went to the bakery to get one of the delicious vege pasties. Had none especially at 12 midday. So I went second option and got a plain meat pie. I saw one staff member filling the pie oven. Please don't put your microwaved pies at the back where the next customer is going to end up getting it. Soggy pastry and cold. That's the one I got. Drove home in the town. One bite and it was given to the dog. Not happy at all when...
