Dragon Place Restaurant — Restaurant in Victoria

Was pretty optimistic when I saw the positive reviews about Dragon Place. But here's the reality:

Visited on what I would except to be a reasonably busy night considering it was a Saturday and apon entering found it to be completely deserted. We spoke to a very unpleasant older gentleman behind the bar who told us we could sit at one of the tables. He gave us a bottle of water and our menus. He then proceeded to float around impatiently and waited around until we decided on what to have. We course also ordered some drinks too as we were rudely explained, but it was not BYO.

The drink I ordered was supposed to be a coke and bourbon but there was no chance that there was any spirit in it due to how sweet it was and it was presented in the smallest glass imaginable for $8 which was a rip off.

The food was hit and miss, too. For Entree, I had the crab claw, which was clearly fried, frozen, and then fried again due to how quick it came out. For mains, I had the honey chicken, which was dry and greasy, as well as a lemon chicken, which was very thin, and the batter was also greasy. In addition, I had a serving of noodles and rice. The noodles were okay, but the rice was dry. Although some disappointment, the seafood bowl I had was fantastic. After we had finished, we contemplated desert. Our youngest wanted something, but the rude and pushy waiter stated that if he didn't make his mind up, they'd turn the frier off.

Here's also something else to add. We arrived at about 7:30 and the restaurant does not close until 9pm as stated however the entire time we were made to feel as if there was no time left and the waiter was consistently pushy, reasonably rude and unfriendly and definitely made us feel unwelcome.

I'm genuinely disappointed with the Dragon Place as it seemed very promising, and I just can't recommend contrary to some of the so-called "reviewers" claims and I hope anyone doesn't make the same...

The food was mostly ok … the deep fried icecream was horrible …. Cold and soggy with Neapolitan icecream… I could not eat it due to aversion to fake strawberry product.. no mention of this when ordering and had to pay for it even though it was not up to standard or could not be eaten ...they stated they couldn’t find any vanilla icecream … the manager was a very odd person with very odd behaviour saying things that were quite strange… would not eat in again … it’s a shame to have this bad experience as it appears to be a lovely place other than the strange behaviour...

We had quite a large take away from here. When we got home, we realised that one of the main dishes had been left out. After phoning, the dish was made then driven out to us. We didn't get it in time to have with the rest of our meal but luckily we had enough to go round. It was eaten for lunch the next day. The food was really great, very tasty. I've been to some restaurants where they refuse to bring the food to you even when it's their mistake. This place was fantastic though, they just delivered it. I'd highly recommend Dragon Place, we'll definitely be going back...
