Red Rooster - Morwell — Restaurant in Victoria

There's two reasons for this review. The first is the usually chirpy as hell window servers that genuinely make my day each time I come through on an almost fortnightly trip. Especially the girl with the manicured nails. I don't know how the hell you keep such manicured nails in fast food but you go girl. The service off these (both guys and girls) servers is always friendly as hell and polite.

This review however is mostly for the poor manager that was on today. Black shirt lady senior management needs to get you some better weekend staff. Order was on screen and back of house I'm sure could see it. I went to bathroom between ordering and coming back only to find her still waiting on the order from back of house. Then twice I heard her audibly ask for the bacon burger, once which followed by the back of house asking if she needed chicken. When she answered no but she needs the bacon burger the staff member instead started to get chips ready.

The front of house had to make her way to the back and make the burger herself then return to front with it and pack it. I understand that these (potentially?) might be new staff but anyone can understand "No I need ....... not .......". It was painful to watch from an ex hospo manager so I hope this review serves to get you some better staff.

You and the serving humans though are absolutely killing it and this is an exceptional place to get delicious chicken and chips.

I had a really poor experience yesterday at 1:30pm. I have a 30 min lunch break, like most people. I came in and ordered and the person behind the counter was friendly. While waiting, I ducked to the bathroom. It was like something from a horror movie - clearly hadn't been cleaned in an age. While I was in there my order must have been called. I went back out and I waited for another 20 minutes. I was clearly waiting and it wasn't called again. In that time the poor girl on the counter was clearly flustered and overworked. The orders backed up, people were cranky, she had to deal with a rude eshay and she called for help at least once and nobody came to help her. My lunch break was over so I asked her if it would be long as I had to go. The order had been cleared from her screen and she had to cycle back a long way to find it.

'oh, I called this out' was the response. 'no mate' was mine (I hadn't connected that it must have been in the apocalyptic bathroom run). She put it together and I had a cold lunch on the drive to the next appointment.

Look, she could have called it twice or ask if everything was alright after 25 minutes of waiting but she clearly isn't the problem in that place. I don't think there'll...

If you happen to be passing by Morwell and want to grab something to eat, just go to the gas station and get yourself a bag of chips and a candy bar. We went there last night around 9:05pm. Most of the options of the menu were not available (at first the waiting time for them would be 15min or more and moments later they weren’t available). We ended up having to order another item from the menu. I ended up getting a huge box with 4 shredded pieces of fried chicken and a super greasy slice of pineapple (maybe the fryer was not hot enough). My partner ordered the exact same thing and got 6pieces of chicken 🤷🏻‍♂️… They were already mopping the floor, so probably they were in a hurry to close and had already shut down most of the equipment.
