I come here frequently for their plain pies. I find they go amazing with an ice coffee. The food is consistently lovely, however the quality of service is less reliable. I ordered a coffee and asked how long because I needed to drop my partner off to work and could not be late. They said within 5 minutes. Apparently there is only 1 or 2 staff that are barista trained and the trained staff had just served another customer. Perhaps it is just bad luck, but I would think offering to swap so the trained staff can make the coffees would make sense. Regardless, it took too long and I said to wait until I got back from dropping my partner off. Imagine my surprise when, upon my return, I find that they had made the coffee and left it in the food heater (Bain-marie) for me. While I appreciate the thought, I asked to wait until I got back so I could have it freshly made.
And, of course, the coffee tasted slightly burnt on top of that. I went to another coffee place to get my partner a decent coffee.
I will return for the pies and the food, but I will never order a coffee from there again unless...
