We have done the High Cheese experience twice, and on our podium of "best dates of all time" they hold the Gold and Bronze spots. The experience is by-appointment only, and only during working hours, but this second time we came, we organised annual leave so that we could re-experience the culinary excellence that is Flying Brick's High Cheese platter.

It's $65 for a seven course culinary masterpiece, with bottomless teas and coffees (or add-on alcohol if you prefer) for $65 for the couple. It could cost double as much and still be reasonable. This second time we didn't eat all day to have the appetite to get through it and it was still too much food. The value is extraordinary. The only reason I could not recommend this experience is dietary restrictions.

This most recent time, I made a spectacular mistake and booked the experience for the wrong day. We turn up, we are still seated, and the only impact to us was an extra 40 minutes wait while our food was freshly prepared while we waited. An incredible act of service that was unprecedented and they could have easily turned us away. Bought $100 of cider as thanks.

We have strongly recommended the experience to multiple couples, and they have also had their best date experience here. If you are remotely near the Bellarine and you have the hours spare, book this experience in advance...

From the minute we walked in, we knew we were on a winner. A young female staff dropped what she was doing to come over to greet and seat us. She made sure we were happy with our seating and offered alternatives if we weren't. We ordered drinks which came within a few minutes. We then ordered mains and these came out extremely quickly. Four of us had 2 steakes and two chicken breaststroke. Each were cooked to perfection. Mouth watering tender and absolutely delicious. Wine was very nice also. Deserts were to the same high standard as mains. All the while, service remained impeccable standard from the two staff that served us. This was our first time here but won't be our last. Meal choices - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Staff friendliness - 5 stars Wine - 5 stars Food quality - I'd like to give 6 stars. Any room for improvement? Probably on that one member of our group doesn't drink alcohol and options were limited. Virtually only water or soft drink. I'd suggest maybe a couple of mocktail options for non drinkers. Overall we had a wonderful night....

We booked lunch for a big group, the waiter had us seated & gave us the menu. Middle of the restaurant. Not a busy day, place was almost half-filled. Lovely spacious place & light filled with gorgeous scenery. The kids wanted fish and chips but it wasn’t on the menu. Almost half way through we saw a platter served to other tables that looked like fish and chips. I asked one of the waiter what dish was it and he confirmed it. I queried which menu was that from? He passed on the message and the original waiter that served us came back to answer the question and claimed “it was on the menu I gave u”. So we said we would like to have a look again. He came back with the original menu and the special lunch menu. With a table of 20. Not one of us was given the special lunch menu. Not a very honest waiter. FYI, the special lunch menu included a side, a main & drink for a decent price. Make sure you check if you should visit the place. Food was otherwise decent. Portion was average. The tasting cider was...

What a place! This is going to be the revelation of the year. The spot it was beautiful, we were in love with the table and the couches. The wooden ceiling is just impressive and the open spaces were wonderful. Even if it was busy, you couldn’t heard people from next table. The food, oh my God, the food! What a fantastic surprise. We asked for the cauliflower, croquettes and the special pescetarian dish, which is was just a delight. The vegan platter was amazing! You could not guess that it was dairy free, at all. But our favourite dishes were, without a doubt; Desserts! The three of them were just magnificent in its own way. What a pleasure. Yes said the Seal rosé and a Pachinga cider for me. This wonderful pear, ginger, chilli and lime cider has all the ingredients that I love at once. We will come back because this is my favourite place from 2020! Thanks to the Chef and all the wonderful people who is putting their effort and love in surprising customers like me.

We came here on a rainy Sunday with a 11:30am reservation. We were the first ones to arrive with the next table not arriving until 12pm. We liked how it was nice and quiet though. It was cosy being seated next to the fire place, and our waiter was very hopitable and knowledgeable about the menu. My partner accidently spilled his cider and they kindly replaced it and helped wipe up the table promptly. The duck leg was delicious and so was the porterhouse steak, although the steak could have been a little less chewy. The baked fig tart was very sweet, good if you prefer desserts on the sweeter side. The banofee looked more fancy than it tasted but my partner who likes banana seemed to enjoy it. The flying brick pachinga cider was recommended to us. The taste was quite unique and I would recommended first timers to try this even though it didn't particularly appeal to my tastebuds
