From the moment we stepped into the Imperial Hotel on the Gold Coast, it was clear we were in for an exceptional experience. The hotel itself radiates a blend of luxury and comfort, setting the stage for what was undoubtedly a remarkable stay from 27th December to 5th January.
The heart and soul of this hotel are undeniably its staff. Richard, the General Manager, whom we had the pleasure of meeting last year, outdid himself in hospitality. His welcoming nature and efforts to make us feel special were truly commendable. His presence added a personal touch to our stay, making the Imperial Hotel feel like a home away from home.
Celebrating my husband’s birthday during our stay, we were delighted by the thoughtfulness of Michael, the Manager for Food and Beverage. His arrangements for us to have prime seating to view the hotel's spectacular fireworks display were a testament to his professionalism and warm, friendly demeanor. It made the birthday celebration all the more memorable.
Gina, a familiar face in the restaurant, continues to be a highlight of our visits. Her delightful and attentive service never wanes. Each interaction with her is a reminder of why we keep coming back. Her warmth and hospitality are a true asset to the Imperial Hotel.
A special mention must go to Alex, another manager who went above and beyond. After our departure, I faced an issue with two delayed packages. Alex's initiative to personally ensure their delivery to my home address was beyond what one would expect. This act of kindness and exceptional service speaks volumes of the culture at the Imperial Hotel.
The entire staff, without exception, were friendly and professional. Their collective efforts made our stay not just comfortable, but genuinely enjoyable. It's rare to find such consistent and high levels of customer service, which makes the Imperial Hotel stand out.
As we plan our visit this December, it is with eager anticipation. We look forward to the familiar, welcoming faces and the exceptional service that awaits us at the Imperial Hotel. It's not just a stay; it's an experience that keeps drawing us back. Thank you, Imperial Hotel, for making each...

The bar staff and service was great but the kitchen and hospitality no so…..
Ordered a meals at 7:15 didn’t get them till 9:15pm. Had been told when we ordered it was going to be 45 minutes to an hour wait which we were fine about. Yes it was busy but if they can’t handle it they should not take any more orders. We had asked a couple of times on how long it would take and at one stage we got told it be another 15 to 20 minutes (it was way longer.. more like over 30 minutes) At the end of the night the lady said that the grill was turning on and off (if that was the case she should of said that they couldn’t do our meals and to my understanding if your cooking steak that's not the way it should be done). Honestly I think they were just making up excuses because they forgot about us and or couldn’t handle the numbers. At the end here was no one else waiting and or eating whilst we sat there waiting. We tried to give her constructive criticism but she took it like we were having a go at her. I don’t think she could understand and or could comprehend what was actually happening. As we were walking out there, there were some rude locals that come out and said that we were a bunch Aholes (and that they know others locals that would give us a lesson). We were far from Aholes, I think we were quite patient considering the circumstances.
At the end of the day don’t lie and drag things out,...
Read moreWe recently stayed here utilising the free camp facility out the rear of the pub, and supported the pub during our two night stay.
Upon entry it stated to call a number to check in or visit the pub. As the pub wasn't yet open, I called the number. An elderly gentleman with a German accent advised it was the wrong number but he got these calls all the time.
We decided to stay and set up anyway even though we couldn't contact anyone. Later that same day I went to the bar and checked in.
There is plenty of room for free camping, where we backed up into a corner with our two vehicles. There are "bays" marked out for caravans and trailers, but the majority of people didn't unhitch and kept themselves neatly reversed in.
The downside to the free camping is the debris left by others. We found glass shards amongst the area where our toddler was playing. Then don't get me started on the spiked barbs (think bindies) all over the ground. They hurt if they pierce the skin.
The food and beverages were of excellent quality from The Imperial though, and their staff were lovely and helpful. If we are visiting the area again we definitely will stop in. Unsure if we would free camp again as it got bloody cold overnight, and we weren't going to use the generator overnight and disturb...
