I went with my lady to this recently reopened venue for a Sunday Lunch. Entering the nicely refurbished bistro we were welcomed by the friendly staff and once seated were informed of the specials and how to order. Once ordered, our drinks (a good selection of wines and cocktails, but the commercial bears on tap were standard unaspiring fair) arrived in good time - along with our tasty garlic bread starter. Our mains arrived promptly: Beef Burger & Seafood Pasta - they looked good ( I was hungry & forgot to take a photo) but unfortunately both meals tasted rather bland - to us, not enough seasoning was added at prep. The seafood pasta needed a LOT of salt just to bring the delicate flavors out and the burger patty itself was lacking any real spices. Just underwhelming unfortunately. The couple near us who had a Parma said theirs was also ordinary with not enough flavor, either. We do hope that menu items can be improved as we love having our...
Read moreentering the Newborough pub, you can always be welcomed by the friendly staff. Tonight at the Newborough pub, I enjoyed the trio of dips, garlic cheese pizza, and parma of the week with my son in the bar area. They offer a wonderful range of meals, and the food was delicious. Guests can also use the spacious dining area to gather with family and friends in large or small groups, and the kids' area is sure to be a hit with the kids. They also have a private function area up stairs that you can hire out and a large beer garden with a local artist mural. Enjoy the fun atmosphere on a Friday and Saturday night, with live music and special karaoke nights and events. I follow the Facebook page to keep up to date with events and their great fund-raising raffles on a Friday night for their local community. I was also happy to discover that you can place phone orders and are able to get...

After tonight bed side vigil I have decided to pull the plug on the pub along with a lot of others that were not happy with tonight service.
It took over an hour for the food to turn up (Chicken Parma) and when it finally arrived, the parma was cold, the chips overcooked and the salad, well you don't make friends with that salad.
You know when a pub is at death door or at the bottom of the beer barrel when you see new staff at each visit, jack up the prices, and serve terrible food with long waiting times.
If the place is empty then you will get good service/food but once it is a quarter full or over you might as well turn around and go...
