Review of Oporto Little River – Geelong Bound (Northbound) Located conveniently along the highway for travellers heading toward Geelong, Oporto Little River would appear to offer the familiar promise of quick, quality fast food that the chain is generally known for. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me disappointed and concerned, particularly with regard to food hygiene and customer service. The restaurant itself is well-positioned and the staff were friendly in manner, but serious issues arose during the food preparation process. I opted for one of their popular bowls—a meal that typically allows customers to sample a variety of ingredients. What I witnessed during the preparation was far from standard. The rice used in my bowl was scraped from the bottom of a plastic storage tray, appearing dry, hardened, and clearly not fresh. It was not warm, and looked more like the remnants of a previously prepared batch than a component of a freshly served meal. When it came time for the pulled chicken, it too looked like it had been sitting out for an extended period—unheated and questionably stored. I immediately raised my concerns with staff, expressing that I did not feel comfortable consuming food that appeared stale and potentially unsafe. Unfortunately, they were unwilling to offer a replacement or a refund. There seemed to be a lack of understanding around basic food safety standards. In the end, I chose to dispose of the bowl entirely rather than risk consuming it. For a brand like Oporto, this experience was not only disappointing but alarming. Hygiene and freshness should never be compromised—especially when dealing with public health.

We went to little river for a family day out and stopped at BP servo on the princes hwy near little river Geelong bound. Heard good reviews on Oporto chicken and thought we give it a go. Never again. We ordered the flame grilled chicken value pack. It looked very enticing in the picture but when we received the order it was rather disappointing. The chicken was dry not very juicy. The burger was tasteless and the chicken patty tasted like cardboard. They were so cheap on the chips like there was a global potato shortage. I know it’s not a restaurant quality food but I rather KFC and Nandos. It’s a big NO for me.

Have eaten here a few times and is usually pretty good. Decided to try the pulled chicken salad and it was a big mistake. I patiently waited 20 minutes to get my food and they were busy, no problem. Cold chips and a disgusting chicken salad. Have a look at the photo, the chicken could not be eaten due to it being hard as a rock. Won't be surprised if I have food poisoning.

When i went to Oporto, with a very good friend of mine, I was not prepared for the surprise that was the restaurant, with all the elegant food and awesome service, and great stuff. Some of the menu include wraps, burgers and chips. All of them flavoured with the great spices that you can only find at Oporto. Nevertheless, something that I really enjoy was the view. Since the restaurant is located on the road, heading toward Geelong, you can have a great feeling of travelling once you ready Oporto. Do you know what you can do? Order a burger, a coke, and sit outside, enjoying the wonderful view. Like that, you can feel something special, something that you will not experience in any other Oporto. Take all the family and all of your friends, organise a fantastic trip to Geelong, and stop at Oporto, you will enjoy it with all the joy of the World, But also... get your belly a great treat.

Thanks again for your precious time. And...

Stopped for some dinner, asked staff if the chicken had any crumbs or coating on it as l am coeliac and can't have flour or bread crumbs, was told it was just grilled the attendant checked with kitchen was advised it was just grilled. When the bondi bowl arrived the chicken had a flour coating on it and that salad had a grain, which l assume was barley. I went back and asked the staff for a list of ingredients, l was told that didn't have a list of ingredients to look on website, no reception so couldn't check. The staff members need to be educated on food allergies, l am sure that they don't want someone getting very sick thru...
