NEW||Spent a lovely day with friends sitting out the front on a perfect day. We had a group during the day of 20 adults and 10 kids who all had meals and drinks who came and went over about 4 to 5 hours||During the day we cleared our table of glasses and plates no less than 6 times and returned them all to the bar without a thanks ...but that's no problem . Food was a total shcmozzle with tables being mixed up ,food which wasn't ours being delivered to us and ours going into oblivion at one stage .||Again no problem as I'm sure it's difficult to get staff !!||When departing I asked the more mature staff member who may have been the owner or manager for 4 cans of different drinks . She popped the top on a couple to which I asked not.to as we were taking them home .||||Walked out to the table to gather the kids and others and within 2 to 3 mins was approached by that particular bar staff who had left a line of patrons at the bar awaiting service and was asked in a very abrupt way " so how are you enjoying your take aways!!!"||Bloody rude and discourteous....she said I gave you them at take way price !!!...they hadn't been touched by anyone so don't know what her beef was...||So we spent in excess of $1200 for the day as a group and cleaned up their bloody mess and because this rude women felt I was scamming her out of ,I don't even know how much ,but maybe $2 or $3||Made that approach and comment..well I call that poor and a simple approach and question would have received an answer.||||I would suggest that you have a small window during the peak season to make some good money but I've told many people this story and hope they give the pub a wide birth due to no other reason than an ill disciplined employee, manager or owner ...if you don't like the gig get out and do something else .||||PS Couldn't be bothered talking about booking tables ...bloody joke .||Amateurishly run||Also posting here as have had NO response se from the Pub....bet if I said it was wonderful beautiful amazing g||I would have had a reply...||||RUDE RUDE...

Read moreThis pub is one of our go to’s in the cooler months, while we’re not Bright/Porepunkah locals we’re local enough for it not to be a half day trek to get there-NOT that it should matter either way. We’ve booked. That’s a guaranteed way to get a table. Right? Correct. Then we get there, we’re told “we’re pretty busy tonight so you’ve got…” and we’re told a time frame….now, we were a small family. Likelihood, but of garlic bread, mains and dessert/coffee. You might’ve had a party of 40 coming in at 7-7:30 however that doesn’t give you a right to treat your other patrons who have BOOKED (ie- you KNOW we’re coming) like second class citizens that need to be told to eat and pss off! Consider the likelihood that at 7-7:30 that we’re going to order another round of meals and really screw your big ticket booking up. You think that’s going to happen?! No, we would’ve been finishing up the food and would’ve been content to enjoy a couple of more drinks served by the lovely barman who COULD handle his workload. Instead we left. No dessert, no intention in going back possibly like the other table next to us who walked out saying “oh look! We’re leaving before we’re even supposed to be here”-their table was booked and they were obviously told to eat and pss off too. |Point- if we’ve made the point of booking, we’re planning a night out. Don’t treat us like you’re doing us a favour by “squeezing” us in. We’ve booked. Your customers aren’t an inconvenience- they pay for the food and service. Don’t tell us you’re busy and you need us “out”. Learn to manage your bookings and staffing. Don’t let the young guy who was seating people and informing them of his inability to manage a workload to do that anymore. He’s not a good choice for front of house. And if you can’t handle the volume of bookings? Take the booking site offline so you can manually book by looking at seating plans and single book tables and seat walk ins opportunistically after...
