Punkah Pantry — Restaurant in Victoria

The place has a nice aesthetic, the food LOOKED good (we didn’t try), but the smoothies were a whole other story. Unfortunately, their smoothies are completely different from both the image, and ingredients that were promoted. For the price, we honestly expected more than a plain, white and yoghurt flavoured drink. In the evergreen, other than the yoghurt the only discoverable flavour was a pale and unpleasant kale, and in the Helena, pretty much nothing. The pie pastry was simply, not cooked. Even the top was soft. The filling (chicken n mushroom) was watery, and the white sauce had separated.

The coffee was offered as drinkable or hot-hot which I appreciated. Service was friendly enough, but disorganised: patrons waiting and looking at their order behind the counter, and nobody was into it. There were 4 groups in total at tables - a quiet day. Very sad. Newly renovated cafe lacks soul. The space is hollow and needs more interior thought.

If you eat pies you’ll be happy as there is a homemade selection. Also toasties, croissant and muffins.

There is no breakfast menu such as eggs and other typical breakfast items. It appears they do not have a kitchen which is strange.

This is a shop with coffee and bakery items. It is not a cafe. And it’s a real shame as there is only one other cafe in the area.
