Salingers — Restaurant in Victoria

Stopped by to have brunch after spending some time in the Grampians. It took about 10 minutes of us standing around by the front counter before anyone decided to ask us if we'd like a table. We actually watched a waiter make herself a drink and stand at the counter drinking it while we stood and hoped she'd notice our existence. Nevermind, once we were seated we remained hopeful. We ordered two coffees (which were fine) as well as a sweet potato rosti dish and a toasted sandwich. When these came we were very disappointed. The toasted sandwich was very average and appeared to have had some of the crust ripped off before reaching our table. The brunch dish had one undercooked, completely watery egg, burnt tomatoes and soggy sweet potato rosti. Not sure how they managed to burn the outside of the rosti while the inside was soggy and barely even cooked. The service was absolutely poor - not even an offer for some water on the table despite the 30° weather. Based on our bad experience, this place is definitely not worth...

The stars deducted mainly from the coffee We ordered a long black The taste is flat, too much water has been added to the coffee and the coffee taste is severely affected.

On the other hand, the beans used are over roasted with too heavy burned taste For Italian coffee with milk added in this will be great as the coffee taste won't be covered

However, for long black, a light roasted option...

Truly appauling service. Our group placed two orders (you have to order at the counter and pay) and they 'lost' the second order. We found this out when the first order arrived. They rushed to get the second order out, but when that arrived one of the dishes wasnt what was ordered. So a third attempt was made to provide the food as ordered. There was even an issue where we had food but no cutlery throughout. They would not provide any compensation in cash, but provided a voucher....so no compensation because we wont...
