SILVER’S FISH & CHIPS — Restaurant in Victoria

i went in about 2 weeks ago and no one else was in, nice customer service but the food looked like it would be nice when unwrapping but was terrible the fish and scallops were dry and the inside was filled with oil. Like the oil wasn't hot enough and the chips were cooked but ultra-dense. and the potato cakes (although they did give me extra) almost had a shell-like batter, I'm not sure really how to explain it anyway it's what i got.

EDIT REPLY** I gave the service and atmosphere a good review... as I said it's what I got it looked good, but it was somehow dry and greasy at the same time inside, and the potato cakes were like turtle shells I assume the temp was too low or maybe to low to start with and then turned up that's why it was greasy inside and overcooked? but I will come and try them again and then if it has changed for the better, I will edit my review...

NON PORK EATERS BEWARE, First time & last time buying from here. My family spent $67 here tonight & the food was terrible, chips & potato cakes were soaking in oil & well over cooked, 3 hamburgers looked good at first glace but the meat was mainly white & tasted yuck, when we called the shop to ask what meat was used on the hamburgers because the order I got didn't look right & didn't taste like mince, he gave me attitude and said it's a mix of pork & other meats but didn't say what other meats were in it. I asked why it's not mentioned that the meat is pork & mixed meats he said no one else has complained, I said that's not good enough, he just gave more attitude saying is that all u rang for and hung up. Silver's Fish and Chips could actually be the best fish & chip shop in Geelong and surrounding suburbs. But it all depends who is behind the counter. Everytime the guy makes the fish and chips great and the scallops are quite large compaired to some other fish & chip shop not greasy and very golden brown and thier hamburgers are so tasty.
