Being an off season and quite day the options weren’t as wide as normal. However, there were still plenty of baked options of pies, sausage rolls, bagels etc. I did notice a sensational looking vanilla slice and a lovely selection of home baked slices including a caramel slice. Most of all, the service of the very friendly lady made this a comfortable and enjoyable experience. I would also like to add that she was very kind on offering a gluten free toasted sandwich option. Couldn’t resist a take away homemade gluten free banana bread.

Great home-made food. From spanakopita to sausage rolls and gourmet breakfast. A little pricey but they sell their own jam and other goods. It's worth a visit, but maybe not if you are in a hurry. When I usually go, the service is warm and friendly but today, there was some tension. The busier it got, the more irate and harried the staff were. Maybe they could hire more to help. I go to Meeniyan for my coffee and sweets. So good. Haven't been to this place in over a year or more.

The Standpipes MC rolled up for a nice morning tea on our Cape Pat run. The Bay were only serving cabinet food but it was a nice selection and pretty tasty, albeit a bit pricey. The lady running the show was bloody great and to deal with 7 different coffee and food orders (plus other patrons) and get them out so swiftly was great job!

Unfortunately we had a pretty disappointing visit. The menu was small which is understandable but the prices are very high. That said, that's not a deal breaker if the food is of the same calibre, unfortunately it really wasn't. We were waiting for our food and after 2 tables who were arrived and were seated after us had been served, eaten and left and after another 1 was served and were eating their food, we asked after our food. An hour after we sat down we got our food with the explanation that "everyone showed up at the same time and the kitchen was overloaded" referring to the customers and which didn't make sense given that there were only a handful of tables occupied, almost all of which came after us. There was no other acknowledgement that the food was late, it was just an offhanded comment. We were served our three meals - the chips were overcooked and cold. The steak was cold, the bacon was cold and tough, the toast for all of us was barely toasted and soggy and the hashbrown was the same. We were really disappointed with the service too (the young server was great though, and was concerned when our food continued to not be served to us). We were willing to look past the general local consensus that the prices didn't meet the quality of the food and service but it appears that we should have listened. I hope they are able to improve as we did take the time to explain our issues and experience....

Went there today with friends for a catch up breakfast, quite early to avoid any large crowds aa was supposed to be a joint friend breakfast. Only 3 of us. All very quiet other than coffee orders which still seemed not too busy as was very early.

We sat for over 30 min for one juice & coffee. Though we were ok with that. Understand holiday season 👍

My two friends order being a wrap & croussant came over 25 later which had already been prepared in the display.

My breaky came another 30 min later. Just poached eggs/avo with toast.

No one smiled while we ordered or dropping off food, just left food in the middle of the table , barely speaking to us & walked away.

Once I got my order toast poached eggs & avocado on the menu 1.5 hr later & friends had eaten, I said Thankyou but disappointed as this was supposed to be a breakfast together. The staff didn’t even register this. We were polite & to be honest too patient.

They really need a manager in there to organise things seems Beth disorganized with unhappy people.

It could be an amazing spot, especially with the courtyard.

Maybe the Cavity across the road should do breakfasts.(advertised for Sun only at this stage). Plus the general store be given more space by council, as they are amazing with great friendly service, was well.

Very disappointed. No one looks happy or smiles. Very slow grumpy service. Will...

The only place we could find open in the morning in Venus Bay. Coffee is good, but the prices are up there, for ordinary dishes ($14 for a breaky toastie thing with bacon and egg, $7 for banana bread, $11 pie). The homemade cabinet items looked really good. As another reviewer mentioned, prices aren’t listed, which is irritating - we have to ask. I don’t understand the mentality behind not displaying prices - does it make for better sales?

On our last day there I ordered an iced coffee. After paying, the lady didn’t say anything (literally not even a thank you) so I just waited next to the coffee machine where they were handing out coffees. After waiting a while, I decided to go to the car to get something as I waited. Came back to the same spot and waited yet some more. As I walked out to the car again I noticed an iced coffee standing on the ledge at the juice bar instead of inside, so I checked with the staff there, and it was the one I ordered. It would have been nice to have been told to wait there upon purchase :)

I heard the barista lady call out a coffee order - “Vi, or Vee, oh whatever” - and understandably, the customer didn’t look too pleased when she picked up her coffee. The barista then rolled her eyes at her colleague as the customer left. Never forget you are on stage and there is most likely someone watching you, especially as they...
