This week I walk in `The Forge Pizzeria'' in Sturt St near Alfredton and observe one of the workers at the front counter area preparing pizza with his mask over his mouth only and not over his nose as required in this Pandemic. His head over the pizzas and body leaning over collecting ingredients.
I comment to him and he states it falls down when working. Yet his colleague has a proper mask covering his mouth and nose as per requirements from the DHHS. He continues to work with his nose exposed. Then I see another worker in the back room on his phone using his fingers, then immediately touching food and also this time the mask only covering his chin and lower lip.
So `The Forge Pizzeria'' in Sturt St near Alfredton ... doesn't care about COVID-19 spreading and the safety of customers who are trying to support them.
Nice one ... wonder why I hardly go and get pizza there. In addition one of the pizza's was burnt and not ready when I came in. Expensive Pizza with unhygienic workers, endangering the lives of customers. Then they complain when we go into lock down and again people die.
Looks like I will be getting pizza from other cleaner & safer businesses who actually care about their customers...
Read moreTo say our experience here (at the Alfredton store) was atrocious is an understatement. Arriving at 5pm, we were met with a a very smoky interior. Ordered 3 pizzas for dine-in and were told that the oven hadn't heated up yet (strange since the venue opens at 4:30pm). We decided to change our order to take-away just so we could step out of the venue due to the smokiness getting worse. It took 90 minutes, that's right, 90 whole minutes to make 3 pizzas! The staff members clearly weren't communicating with each other, which meant they also weren't relaying any information to customers about the significant delay. 2 out of the 3 pizzas were good, 1 pizza (pulled pork) was so dry it was inedible. Given this cost nearly $90 - this is completely unacceptable.
It's a real shame to see that a venue that has had such great reviews really struggled to get anything right tonight. We would have been a lot less frustrated had there been some transparency about the significant delays, especially as we were with our two hungry young kids and would have opted to...
Read moreWe ordered 4 pizzas online at about 7pm, were told they'd be ready from 7.30pm, arrived in the shop at 7.30pm, had to wait ages to be served, got various text messages giving updates however pizzas were not ready until 8.15pm. When we got home we got the message "Come to counter"!!. Granted it was Tues 28 December & they would have been short staffed and very busy with dine-in as well as take away orders, however management could manage the online time frame messaging system better (especially at this time of year & other busy times) so that people understand its going to take longer than expected. Pizzas were premium price, $28, $32, $26, $27. Didn't like the pulled pork & cabbage one - tasted like it had blue cheese on it. Will think twice before we...
