Have been 3 times in past month. Had quiche Lorraine first which was very nice. Next visit on a Friday afternoon- very little food available so left. Went today around 1pm. No heated quiche so reluctantly ordered one to be heated in microwave- bad mistake-pastry soft and stretchy Also had a curry pie-arrived lukewarm so it was heated in microwave puff pastry soft and stretchy also. It virtually collapsed on the plate and the filling tasted cheap and nasty. Base should be short crust to improve taste , structure and texture. Staff couldn’t disguise their displeasure at my comments. Microwaving pastry is so not on when there are better options....

No tea bags here, only good quality loose leaf. Very friendly staff and the cafe hosts regular art exhibitions to be enjoyed while you dine or share a coffee with friends. Read morePutting aside the great bread available their pasties and pies are desultory and dire. Before midday we had been served with 1 minced meat and mushroom pie that was barely warm. A pasty, also luke warm had such tough pastry it had to be shredded from the curry flavoured mixture to separate filling from inedible dried out pastry from filling. Overpriced, poorly executed product with a poor filling to pastry ratio. Shame to see, what should be good food treated with such distain. Can do so...
