Castle Motel — Hotel in Castlemaine

Terrible!!! No hot water. Many other reviews complaining about the same issue!! Night time we tried to take a shower only to find a disgraceful situation where there was no hot water and reception was closed.

We were in town for a sporting event and didn’t spend much time at the motel. Upon returning in the evening NO HOT WATER!

I called in the morning to a guy who was difficult to understand over the phone and made out that they didn’t know anything about any hot water issue. He claimed they “don’t turn off hot water” but we and other guests have experienced this.

We are highly suspicious that in an effort to cut costs this hotel turns the hot water service off at night (perhaps to some if not all rooms). No apology from any staff, just being told that everything is fine when it clearly wasn’t doesn’t cut it.

Would actually give this place a lower star rating but the least I can rate on here appears to...

The owners are very rude, friends slept in the extra bed and were charged an extra $40. They were also asked to leave after the owners wouldn't refund the extra night. The police were called. The pool is green and disgusting, our room had a hole in the wall behind the bed and there were strange black flies in this room. The place is run down. When we left I spoke with the owner and told her we were not happy about the way our friend's were treated and she absolutely lost her cool with me too, for no reason. Doubt if anymore hot rodders will stay here again after she said we don't want your type here !! Unbelievable, great hospitality - NOT, just very rude and obnoxious. When the room was serviced they only made the bed, no towel replacement. Never come across such horrid people. If you don'time people, don't own a motel. Worst...

Only gave 1 to write review |Arrived at 5:35 to be advised no room and they had called 3 mins earlier to advise, faulty toilet.|NO room on site, if we had of arrived earlier yes, but they gave the room to someone else. |Offer of accommodation 40min drive away, not walking distance to the restaurant we had dinner booked for in just over an hour, nor the events the Theatre Royal, when asked if taxi vouchers were declined.|Would not explain WHY the room had not been given the clearance post previous checkout AND check in is at 2:00 so why the 5:32 call.|Appalling and we suggested a plumber and they said no.
