I arrived at midday, and the only ‘ready to eat’ lunch option was a chicken and mushroom pie for $8.00. I assumed it would be a lovely pie at that price, but unfortunately it was not. Hole in the wall coffee shop in Walcha. The coffee matches the shops name serving a fruity natural process flavoured roast with noticeable berry notes. The cafe is quite easy to spot on the round about and we were glad we stopped for a coffee. Walcha is also a lovely town for a stroll with a fruit shop coffee in hand. When you arrive in the Walcha town centre in the early morning and you see the local tradies lining up at a coffee store, you know they serve good coffee there, and yes that observation was correct, great coffee and quick service. A tip for families, grab your coffee and walk up to the local McHatten park which is about 50m away, past the Foodworks...
