I came here to ask a question prior to buying some food but the person behind the counter, while drinking a purple coffee liquid answered me with much disgust because it was about stray dogs outside. We left after that. We werenβt asking a terribly hard question. Really rude.
We were there to eat lunch as we hadnβt eaten for the day whole trip but never purchased anything after that. Really disappointed with this because it seemed to me a very modern venue to dine at.
The store was very welcoming with homewares etc which was great to look through.
They have bathrooms for customers.
Being the only thing open on a Saturday open in Walgett, Iβd like to be received nicer and with much less attitude like Iβm interrupting them.

Β Β Β Read moreSuch a nice surprise!!...to find Stones Throw in downtown walgett. It changes the whole feel of this town (i visited on my way to Collerenabri, 2 decades ago). So, I had the salami in cheese on sourdough, toastie, yum. And pot of Earl Grey with a plant based milk..yum again. Go the stones throw, cafeππ£! My only dissapointment... being health conscious... was, no cooking oil alternative besides the toxic seed oil, Canola is used. So i couldnt try their sweet potato chips with Murray River Salt flakes. Waaah :( Oh...and their only version of "chai tea" was the sickly sweet, powdered chai-mix. No real brewed, chai tea leaves with spices :(
Still...a wonderful addition to Walgett food options!! Hope the locals, find it...

Indoor and outdoor seating, a great place to have a rest if you're driving through Walgett on the highway.
It's the cafe you'll see highlighted in the most recent Walgett brochure, because it's quite pretty.
Has toilets for customers (always a win in my opinion if you're road tripping).
π Free street parking, easy to grab a spot
