Absolutely terrible dining experience. Rude and incompetent staff and a very limited overpriced menu.

We visited during the April school holidays and the restaurant was very quiet. The person who seated us was not friendly and did not inform us how to order. We realised after a few minutes that the QR code was on the side of the cutlery box. We placed our order and then 10 minutes later another wait person offered to take our order.

When our order arrived 20 minutes later after ordering the wait person had an extra dish which we informed we did not order. They took it back to the kitchen. As my son went to cut into the steak sandwich he had ordered the wait person returned and grabbed the steak sandwich away from him informing us he had given us the wrong order. The wait person then turned around and placed the steak sandwich on the table behind. That customer immediately informed the wait person that they wanted a new one as it had been already given to my son. The wait person took it back to the kitchen. A few minutes later they returned with a “freshly prepared” steak sandwich. We then waited another 5 minutes and then I enquired about on my sons. The wait person went to the kitchen to check but never returned to me, but instead went and waited on other tables. When I went to ask the wait person on the update the wait person who seated us interrupted rudely and asked what I wanted. I explained and then they told me it would be 5 minutes without checking with the kitchen. I set a timer on my phone and waited. 5 minutes passed and then informed the wait person I wanted a refund as we had nearly waited 40 minutes for the meal. The wait person ensured they took their time with my request and then just before the transaction was to be completed the steak sandwich arrived and my son let me know as he was still seated at the table. My family and I had an absolutely unforgettable evening at Leapfrogs for our daughter’s 18th birthday dinner, and I can’t praise this restaurant enough! From the moment we walked in, the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, setting the tone for a truly special night. Their attentiveness and professionalism were outstanding, ensuring every detail was perfect without ever feeling overbearing. A special shoutout goes to Lucinda, whose flawless and friendly service elevated our experience to another level. Her bright smile, thoughtful recommendations, and impeccable timing made us feel like VIPs. She checked in just enough to keep everything seamless, all while radiating kindness that made the evening even more memorable. The food was nothing short of spectacular. We all ordered the Lamb Shanks with Mashed Potato and Jus, and it was a unanimous hit. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly complemented by the creamy mashed potatoes and rich, flavorful jus. Beautiful setting and ambience, Front End Manager or person looking at bookings was very rude. Yes we were running late which we had called ahead and let them know. Young man on the phone said not a problem, arrived as our large group and was greeted with a very sour attitude and told well you only have 30 minutes left before the table is needed again and that the settings are only 90 minutes max for Dec. When I suggested that this should be advised prior to turning up (none of the correspondence states this) the Front End Manager said well that's not her problem and I could take it up with someone else. Our booking of 10 was taken to a table that was not set for a table of 10. Our booking was made early Nov.

Our table staff were lovely and very friendly. Our order was taken and our drinks arrived quickly. One drink was made with flat soda and we did have to ask for it to be replaced, but that was done quickly. Food was nice but nothing overly special. All in all the place is beautiful, but a dampener on the night when greeted with someone whom is meant to be friendly and polite is rude and very sharp. Sun Dec 10 2023...
