Unexpected gem. After driving 850 kms we arrived at the Creekside & were looking forward to eating. I had read so many wonderful reviews but unfortunately we had arrived too late. The kitchen was closing in a few mins. I was so disappointed. But as I was walking away from the pub to let my husband & friends know a young man ran out of the pub & called out to let us know they could keep the kitchen open for us to order some food. The steak that I had was fantastic & my husbands barramundi was excellent as well. Our friends loved the tandoori pizza & calamari. I brought 40 Probians from St.Arnaud.to your hotel last Thursday. We were warmly greeted and directed to the annexe which had been reserved for our group. Although a cool day the annexe was very warm and inviting. The clear blinds and ceiling made it very light and able to view the nice area outside. All of us enjoyed our meals which were served quickly by the friendly staff. We were served fish and parmas alternately and the sweets of individual pavs and chocolate pudding and ice cream were also served alternately. Comments from our group re the venue and meal were 'beautiful' 'delicious' 'served quickly' and 'really lovely place to come'. Thank you for a great place to have a meal. Helpful on the phone. Haven’t been to the creekside for 5-6months. Last cullinary experience was average. This time was better. Expected & Ordered good pub food for their pricing, and that’s what i got. Really enjoyed the quality of meal. Also enjoyed the cocktail menu. Japanese slipper followed by sex on the beach. The cocktail menu may be considered traditional however, in comparison with the quality and care i have been served cocktails by other Wimmera venues i was content. the creekside’s hospitality were kind and hard working. I felt sorry for the only bartender mixing on a Friday night. The creekside are obviously striving to achieve and deliver standards far greater than “locals”...
