We came here while we were on our first trip to warnambool for dinner- we were a table of 12 and the restaurant was fairly busy however; upon ordering a jug of soft drink the cups were disgusting. They looked dirty and had white chalky marks across them from the inside of the cup. I asked for new cups and received another set of dirty cups if not worse than the first set, at this point I was getting frustrated because really how hard is it to have some clean markless cups given to paying customers? I took my jug and the poor excuse for cups up to the bar and on my way there, one of the waitresses stopped me and rudely proceeded to tell me “the cups are clean, they have been in a dishwasher, you cant polish every cup clean” when I got to the bar i requested that I swap my jug to cans as I wasn’t comfortable with drinking out of dirty cups & I was told the same thing but this time it was “I’m not giving you free cans because I assure you the cups are clean and we will go through every cup until we find ones you like” eventually we got there. Fine all good it is was it is, she even clean the cups for me with a towel. Good job. But then…. We waited for our food. And waited…. And waited….. I mean we waited for an around 1 hour and 20 mins for the most our tables food… but then we waited some more, for our pizzas…. At this point I was contemplating just going to maccas and calling it day but low and behold they eventually came and they were nice. Cold. But you know. Credit where credits due I bet they would have been nicer if they were actually served hot. We also had a calamari salad- the calamari was stone cold and they remade it! Which was good…. However, the calamari was barely cooked so I mean we threw that on another plate and added salt and pepper ourselves but didn’t really want to eat it. I should mention it’s now almost 2 hours since we ordered, the table has eaten most of the cold food we were served but where’s the last of our entree? Oh. Still nowhere to be seen. At least they gave us our money back for that. All in all, the service was horrible. The staff were relatively rude, the food was cold and their cups were gross. We easily left $500 there at the least. It’s really disappointing because the food actually tasted nice but considering they had so many plates sitting under the heat lamps for over 30 mins at a time it’s...

The Flying Horse - hmmm do horses fly? Perhaps they do here. For the celebration of the life of a dear friend of my partner, we attended a gathering of family and friends at #theflyinghorse It’s a very large venue with many spaces to gather collectively. We were seated in a lovely spot but wasn’t too noisy considering the number of people. Menu is traditional pub food at reasonable prices. My partner had a medium rare porterhouse steak which was cooked exactly as requested. It was accompanied with honey candied carrots, broccolini and garlic flavoured mashed potato’s. I ordered the penne carbonara and took up the option of chicken that was served with shaved parmesan. Portion sizes were good and taste not bad for a pub meal, considering the volume of food they were pumping out. The bar is well stocked and although I chose the house red, it was pretty good. Kids are well catered for and it’s an ideal ‘family friendly’ place to eat. Bonus - no poker machines humming in the background. Plenty of car parking. Courtesy bus available and that was well used by our group. Best of all, the staff were amazing. Helpful. Courteous. Friendly. Thank you.

Food was terrible, inedible. Refused to pay for my meal which was very disappointing considering it was my birthday we were celebrating. Ruined the whole evening. Had to ask to have table cleaned of dirty dishes. Staff would walk past and look at the table and continue to walk away. We were celebrating another family birthday only 10 days before and the food was incredible hence why I rebooked for my party. Couldn't understand what had gone wrong. Then we realised the menu had changed and alot of the variety of meals had been removed. We then discovered that the establishment had changed ownership within the 10 days of us being there. This explains everything. We won't be back. Why change something that is obviously bringing patrons to your door. Very sad to see another eating establishment in this town failing to offer great food and service. Maybe they should have taken some pointers from the previous owners on how to serve up successful...

Chicken Parma was STONE COLD in the middle. Staff member wasn't even suprised. Offered a replacement or something else from the menu. Hello food poisoning!!! Beef burger was dripping with sickly sweet sauce straight from a jar and wasn't enjoyed. Calamari was tender but average in flavour. The salad was very poor and consisted of only lettuce, cucumber and tomato. Very over priced for what was served! Medium steak came on the rare side and with gravy and hollandaise sauce, both from a bucket. Deep pan pizza was good for a pub pizza. We ordered six beers between us, all schooners, all came in different sized and shaped glasses. Not sure why. Both Waiter and waitress reached OVER customers to serve and remove plates. No serving from the right and taking from the left in this establishment. McDonalds is right next door - at least you know what you will get, at a cheaper price and generally better service.

Took my family in tonight and we all enjoyed one of the best meals we have had in many years. All the food was cooked to perfection and plates beautifully. Meal size was excellent and well proportioned. We all tasted each others meals and all were delicious. Deserts were to die for! Staff were exceptionally polite, service was fantastic and we could not fault the entire night. We have been to this bar quite a few times, no matter if it's a weekday lunch, weekend dinner, a quiet night or booked out, we have never had a bad meal or even a mediocre one. Menu prices are very well balanced and you can get a great feed for a family of 4 for less than $60, or if you have an appetite for adventure like me (and hollow legs), you can easily spend that on one plate like the one pictured which was a massive steak, calamari and garlic prawns and was worth every cent!
