Bago Tavern — Restaurant in Wauchope

What can i say Bago Tavern is absolutely Amazing. The staff are so happy and friendly. We were out in the front smoking area and the staff without being asked delivered water to our dog. The coffee was no less than perfect and for the first time ever since i have done reviews the toilets were immaculate and this was at a busy time i have not found this in any other toilet at any Hotel or Tavern. I give these guys five stars and you can bet that i will be going back when ever i am in Wauchope again. I have to be honest we never had a meal on this day but i did make a point of listening to other customers eating and they were really enjoying it and when i spoke about how good the place was everyone was agreeing with me. Visited Bago Tavern for lunch in December 2024. Food was terrible. Ordered american cheeseburger and Lemon pepper chicken with prawns. The burger was slapped together with no care. The patty was barely lukewarm, the caramelised onion was cold, crunchy and straight out of a jar. The bun was stale. The dish was inedible. The chips on the side were the only highlight.

The Lemon pepper chicken was awful. The chicken was not cooked to order, dry and tasteless. The prawns were off and smelt really bad. The salad was wilted and days old. Highlight the chips on the side.

What a disappointing meal and will not go back there. We never complain but we decided to today as it was so bad. The only feedback we got from the male staff member was a long stare and no conversation....

Worst experience ever my grandmother chocked on a fish bone and the chef at the time was rude and ignorant. I have told everybody about this experience If I can give it 0 stars or would. Some people will need to realise that the customer are important to your business and and try to not arguing when someone that is choking on an obvious fishbone maybe you guys need to do some first aid training? as well as food and hygiene handling? I work in hospitality all up or down Australia for a very long time and I've never seen anyone treat an old person the way this chef did.
