This fish and hip place is in the Ashby shopping complex, on the side of the Farmer Jack's supermarket.
I really liked the fish and chips here! The batter was really light and thin and stayed crispy even when it cooled down. The pieces of fish were thin too, there was a good ratio of crispy batter to fish. The fish itself was fresh and flakey and the chips were well fried, the kind that are all mostly short fat chips. The meal came with heaps of chips.
We got the fish and chips for three with one of each - dimsim, pineapple ring, and crabstick. The batter stuck really well to these, I noticed especially with the pineapple, they must have really dried it before applying the batter. We also got the curry sauce and mushy peas....

When I got there was told I they didn’t have half of what I ordered and I could either wait another half hour for them to cook something else or just take the chips that were already cooked. Decided to just take the chips as I couldn’t be bothered waiting and was given $8 worth of chips that were hardly enough for two people. Because the serving is huge I have 1/2 the fillet and chips reheated for brunch the next morning. Beautiful family and I am grateful for their endurance.
