Firstly I have to explain my scoring, I reserve 5 stars to places that go over and above. If I gave all the places 5 stars, I'd have no higher to go for somewhere exceptional. 4 Stars is my normal go to for a great place. 3 stars is average. 2 stars, I kind of wish I stayed home or bought my own food from home. 1 Star, you don't want to know. LOL
Booking here was good and all went well.
We arrived and showed our vaccination Certs and received stamps on our wrists. This wasn't a problem at the time however later that night at home, my wife realized the ink from the stamp had stained the white band of her sports watch. We tried warm soapy water firstly then metho with no avail. My wife will contact them and we understand this is an honest mistake. As long as they take it on the feed back, I don't think this is anything negative. You know what they say though "Happy wife, Happy life".
We did like the layout of the place, It was nice to sit on the veranda on a good day.
The menu looked good and had a good variety.
Our kids both ordered the kids Gnocchi with napoli sauce while I had Black Angus & Cheddar Burger and my wife had the Pulled Pork Burger. We also ordered a Szechuan Pepper Squid to share.
Service was extremely quick. My wife and I both commented. It would normally be good to see service this quickly.
The kids meals were where things went down hill though. My daughter is 15 but only wanted a smaller meal. The first thing she said though was her meal was cold. I tried it and it was only lukewarm. Next the Szechuan Pepper Squid was only warm at best as well. The Szechuan Pepper Squid wasn't at all crispy and had little Szechuan Pepper flavor at all. My son only ate about a quarter of his meal. We usually put a fair bit of pressure on our children to sit and eat all their dinner but when I saw him heaving while he was trying to chew what was in his mouth, I let him off this time.
The burgers that my wife and I had were great and had good flavor. Had these been the only 2 meals we had this place still would have got 4 stars.
I'm suspicious to how the food is prepared with the speed it was served. Sometimes if food comes too quickly, you wonder how it was cooked so quickly and then when some is served cold.....Welll, you wonder.
I will say Monday was a public holiday so normally I would cut a place some slack with difficulty getting staff on a public holiday. However we were charged a 15% public holiday surcharge. I have no problem with this surcharge and we were made aware a the time of booking.
My problem with the surcharge is you can't have it both ways. Either you can't provide the normal level of service because you can't get the normal staffing or you charge more (which this place did) and you provide the usual...

Iāve been twice, 18 months apart, and both times I have been greeted with authentic quality service and even better food and drink. I even love the quirky quotes on the staff uniforms and that are posted around the place. I have over a decade of experience in hospitality and this place runs like a beauty! Meat was not seared correctly, small portion of food for the money and left hungry. I'm not a big eater but was still disappointed by the portion served.
