Was a bit windy when we came for coffee and a little bite to eat, but you cannot control the weather right. Everything was great about this place. A few things for management to be aware of: When there is rainwater on the perspex verandah out the back and the wind picks up, anyone sitting at the bench would be soaked. So it might be a good idea to install gutters or cover the area with PVC roller blinds maybe. The flat roof seemed to just hold the water until the perfect gust came along. Also, we came with our dog, so a sign directing us to head around the back would have been great. A lovely girl inside the chocolate shop felt the need to over apologise and share a long winded explanation as to why we couldn't bring our dog through the chocolate store. Totally fine with going around, I just feel that this poor thing has probably had a few grumpy customers that she's had to explain this to. Speaking of, she was incredible. Great service, very engaging, bought far too many chocolates (ooooops) All in all a fantastic experience, just some minor tweaks as mentioned above to ensure a smooth customer experience. Great work CCco! Will...
Read moreMy partner and I have been visiting Commonage on a bi-yearly basis, whenever we are in the south west. We have always enjoyed and looked forward to coming to Commonage given the high standard of coffee and friendly staff. However, today when we visited, the quality we are used to, lacked tremendously. The waitress carried out of coffees on a tray, with our banana bread muffin. Our piccolo had no foam, and the time it got to our table, it was spilt everywhere. My hot chocolate, also no foam, with a horrible tasting chocolate syrup throughout. I assume they used the chocolate buttons as my coffee was so hot, the syrup had spilt in the milk. I expected going to a roaster directly, you would have the highest standard of coffee. The muffin was dry, crumbly, not fully toasted and most certainly not fresh. I assume the business has changed hands, as every-time we visited, we used to be greeted by a young man who always wore a beanie was no longer working. We once could choose our roast, now, no option to do so. Unfortunately, we wonât be returning anytime soon, and itâs such a shame as we...
Read moreArrived and ordered at 3:45 waited at least 10 minutes for two muffins. Was told at 3:55 that they were closing but we could sit while they packed up. Sat and ate overly warmed muffins while competing to speak over the sound of the Dyson. Was told at 4pm that they were now closed! We took our half eaten muffins outside and sat at an outdoor table on the lawned area. At 4:05 we were told to leave the premises. When I suggested that they could have mentioned this rush to finish before we ordered I was rather rudely told âItâs on the signâ - well then maybe you shouldnât have taken 10 minutes to microwave my muffins! Very rude young lady continued to argue with me as I turned and walked away. Itâs a pity as the muffins were delicious and the setting is lovely. Wonât be back and I fully realise that they wonât...
