I had the most delightful experience at Finch Cafe today. I ordered coffee and some delicious biscoff brownies, but my online payment didn't go through. My card was in the car, so I was a bit flustered, but the lady (forgot to asked her name)at the counter and the barista boy were incredibly kind and reassured me, telling me not to worry about the payment and to go ahead and enjoy my order. Their kindness really stood out, as they repeatedly told me not to stress about the payment. However, I went to my car to get my card and returned to pay, and their continued warmth and understanding made me feel so valued as a customer. It's rare to find such genuine customer service these days, and this experience really brightened my day. Around 10am on a Saturday I asked a random stranger in the car park if the coffee was any good as he was holding a tray containing a number of coffees. He looked me in the eye and said in a serious and gravelly voice, "they're very good". That decided that. I wandered in and found the counter and was apparently yawning as I was quickly attended to with a bright and chipper "coffee hun?" Momentarily confused at the woman's magical intuition I replied "huh?" She said "you seem tired, would you like a coffee?" I then realised I'd walked in with my tonsils on show so I placed my order and had a cheerful chat. I came in desperately for something to eat as I was starving. I am not sure if it was the owner who served me, however she was super welcoming and non judgemental to when I asked if there were any vegan options. She was super accommodating and made something specifically for me. In the end I had a toastie with avo, spinach, mushrooms, tomato and a hash brown inside of it and honestly it fully delivered. That was the tastiest cafe meal I’ve had for awhile. I don’t know what she done or how she cooked it but far out, super tasty and super satisfied. Very happy.
