This breakfast is a hearty and satisfying take on the classic full English, beautifully presented with a thoughtful mix of textures and flavors. The thick-cut toast is golden and crisp on the outside while staying soft inside, making it perfect for pairing with the other components on the plate. The poached eggs are delicately done, with firm whites and perfectly runny yolks that add richness without overwhelming the dish.
The bacon is thick, juicy, and well-seared, offering a savory depth that complements the grilled sausage’s smoky flavor. A roasted tomato adds a burst of freshness and acidity that balances the richness of the meats. The small portion of sautéed mushrooms and wilted spinach brings an earthy, slightly bitter counterpoint that rounds out the flavors beautifully.
The baked beans, served in a decorative patterned bowl, are warm, slightly sweet, and comforting—an essential part of any traditional breakfast. Their soft texture contrasts nicely with the crunch of the toast and the firmness of the eggs.
Every element feels intentional and well-prepared, both in taste and presentation. This breakfast strikes a perfect balance between indulgent and wholesome, making it a delicious and complete meal to start your day. A true...
Read moreEdit* - Have recently visited this place after a ‘covid hibernation’ New menu, all day breakfast/brunch options, crowd favorites, but nothing quirky (as it used to be). Quite pricey, I must say. Ordered smashed avo, smallish portion, two skinny slices of toasts with smudged avocado on top, poached eggs were undercooked, but not critical. Paid $22 for the meal and left still hungry. Had another chance to have a meal there. Ordered steak sandwich with chips. Decent portion and promising looking meal. Unfortunately, chips were the best part of it.. Turkish toast was completely soaked with beetroot juice. ‘Steak’ was inedible. Literally had to spit it out, as it was very fatty and chewy. Unsure what meat was used for this steak, but it is unacceptable, as you pay $25. Very disappointed with the meals. Unreasonably overpriced. Would not recommend to dine in here. Plenty of decent breakfast spots in town. However, coffee still seems to be good, again very expensive ($6 for a regular size x shot). Good range of sweet options in the cabinet. Service is good, staff is very friendly.
The change is unbelievable, this is totally different to the good old Just a little cafe. Pity, as it used to be great. I can only assume this place is under...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Just a Little Cafe after it re-opened. It was a massive disappointment and we won't be going again. I ordered smashed Avo on toast with poached eggs. I also ordered a side of hash browns. It came with 3 slices of toast (well 2 large slices and the end piece of a sourdough loaf) and 1 egg. I don't think I've ever been to a cafe and had poached eggs where I've only got 1. No butter for toast and the hash browns were tiny. My partner ended up getting something from the cabinet, looked nicer and a lot cheaper. This place is ridiculously overpriced for what you get and the food is below average. The coffee is ok, but there are definitely better places for coffee. I believe it's under new management and it certainly shows. I would avoid going here if you want a reasonably priced meal that is actually...
