Main Reef Tavern — Restaurant in Western Australia

We stayed here for 1 night heading west - 2 adults and a dog. The area (Kalgoorlie south) is quiet & run down and was like a ghost town. A gentleman from the Chinese takeaway checked us in and was very friendly. There is parking within a locked compound. The room was very small. The bed seemed very old including the pillows and was uncomfortable. We ordered from the Chinese takeaway next door and the food was great. This place was ideal for a no thrills, 1 night stay on...

We tried the Main Reef Chinese for the first time, takeaway this time hence the atmosphere rating. The food was excellent, we got beef black bean, sweet & sour pork, veg omelette and rice. Just like the radio advertisement that boasts the best Chinese in town (big call to make) but they’re bang on! Very tasty food, great service, threw in some prawn crackers. Love it. We will be back...

Always good going to the main reef tavern part from this time the local in the door way of the tavern started talking racial talk about the black locals and they brought up there should be a culling out on the black like they done in Tasmania .
