I ordered at 7.15pm Called at 8.30 pm. The woman named melanie told me sorry about the wait. My order is leaving the store now and the driver had it. Cool no worries. I can wait.
I call back 15 min later because it says that it's been delivered on the doordash app. She says my order is leaving the store. AGAIN. I said "you told me that my order was leaving the store 15 min ago and the driver had my meal" She paused for an awkwardly long time realising she had messed up lying to me.
Does she tell everyone that ? Then she told me the app must be broken. Back peddling.... blaming the app instead.
It's delivered by their own drivers. So why couldn't she call the driver to confirm the correct address? She didn't even offer to call and check how far away the order was or where the delivery driver dropped it off because it said "delivered" on the app. I was just told to "wait".
There no reassurance that my meal will actually rock up? Or if it's sitting on someone else's door step? I had no idea.
Look, I understand if it's busy. Tell me. Don't lie blatantly to my face. I'm a paying customer. Then, there is no reassurance my meal is ever going to arrive or if it's been delivered to the wrong address.
I spent $150 and it's 9pm at night. The store closes at 9pm.
After my partner had to make a third aggressive phone call and tell her that he would be rocking up at the store to sort it out. It miraculously shows up at our doorstep 20 min later. Piping hot, like it had just been cooked.
I won't ever buy here again. I've been buying from here for the last 6 years because the food is actually pretty good. I've spent 100s of dollars here over the years, but after being lied to twice. I will no longer be a paying customer. I'll take my money elsewhere.
