You get two stars from me because the missus said your steak burger was nice and the order was ready on time so two starts for that. Otherwise I was extremely disappointed in the grub that he served up on Friday night. Under the old guys, Armie and Co the food was always great, the best fish & chips this side of the Nullarbor I always told anyone looking for a decent feed, and their prices were fair. $8.50 would get you fish cooked PERFECTLY every time and enough chips to be a meal unto themselves with just the right amount of chicken salt for good measure. This new mob can't cook chips let along a delicate piece of Jew Fish, it was under cooked, the inner flesh was translucent and the batter was not even slightly crunchy. Every one knows Jew has to be COOKED right for the sweet flavour to permeate the whole piece and for it to not end up tasting like a piece of cheap throw away hake fish from NZ.
Chips, how hard are chips to cook??? You put them in BOILING oil until they float, give them 20-30 seconds more and, hey presto, cooked chips. No this guy is so worried about getting you out the door that the chips were ALL under-cooked and horrible.
Now to feed my beautiful missus and two gorgeous daughters plus ugly old me would cost $8.50 per head or $25.50 with Armie's Fish & Chips because one serve of fish & Chips would do both my girls but they have grown so now one each and at $10.90 ($2.40 more) that adds up to $43.60. total increase in price is $18.10 for a dramatic decrease in not only food quantity but also quality.
Needless to say, we, my three women and I WILL NOT be going back there again which means no more fish & Chips on a...
Read moreAww Swannies, I don't know whats happened. We came in tonight bought some fish n chips, tasmanian kina and an oyster punnet. The kina was definitely off! I couldnt even hold it in my mouth (and trust me iv eaten slightly old kina before and stomached it just fine) he was nice enough to offer another punnet which I jumped at because this girl loves her Kina. Tried one could hold it down but still a fowl taste. 2nd one I had to run out of the shop to spit it out. But... this may not be your fault and could be where you purchased them. I'm not sure but they should be taken off the shelf as I believe it was a bad batch. He refunded our money. Thank you for that. Tried the oysters and pretended they were OK because he had already lost out on $50 for the 2 punnets of Kina that were spoilt. But they were not and only ate 1. I bought them home to see if my family would like them thinking maybe it was just my taste buds. But they spat them out too. Do you marinate them? Because it tasted like it had vinegar or something. If so, you should write this on the container so people know. I wanted fresh raw oysters. The battered sausages were VERY spicy. Again if i had known i would not have bought them. He did give us a free yummier sausage though. Thanks again. The fish n chips were still yum! And the people serving were nice too. I'm sorry you lost out on money and am not trying to rubbish your business. It's just for future reference to be mindful of. I gave 3 stars because I still believe this shop is good this is the first time we've ever had a problem so could be...
Read moreDon’t waste your time, over price, poorly cooked and shop itself is dirty. $56 for oily overcooked fish. Couldn’t tell the difference between battered fish and crumbed fished it all somehow looked the same, burnt dried out and oily. The “kiwi” dog again in burnt patchy batter won’t even say it covered as half the batter wasn’t even on the sausage. Chips didn’t have any salt despite asking for it and again oily and somehow overcooked. Ordered at 4.15 online for 4.45 arrived bang on time and they hadn’t even started cooking had to watch three orders be cooked and served before mine ended up getting started it 25 later than the estimated time. The shop itself was dirty, the guy had no gloves watched him handle everything. Ended up throwing 90% of it in the bin and eating...
