I visited Taylors In The Valley as we were coming to the area and noted they were âvegan and vegetarian friendlyâ. They had a few options on the menu, which could be made vegan.
When our meals came, they were the dullest, most boring, bland, and uncreative food we have ever had â nothing inspiring or visual on their presentation either. Half pumpkin fried up and dumped on a piece of bread. And mine, just a cup of peas (looked like tin peas) on top of the avocado. We also ordered mushrooms on the side which were terrible bland and chewy. Not sure if the chef has lost their passion for working with food and coming up with creative and sublime dishes for all of their customers; itâs not hard to prepare great-tasting plant-based food. They also didnât have one cake or slice that was plant-based to have with our coffee when I asked them. âš
Would I return? Noâmuch better places out there that are not solely plant-based restaurants but still making some incredible dishes full of flavour with some imagination.
The restaurant and location itself was lovely â the outside was gorgeous and rustic inside. No issues with service â they told us there would be a wait for the food upfront. But otherwise, it was a colossal...
Read moreA unique setting with a modern menu. Situated in the heart of the Swan Valley Taylor's offers surrounds that can best be described as rustic with a touch of old world charm. The cafe has used it's surrounds in a very imaginative way, the use of a watertank cut in half that has seating for two is a clever addition to the ample seating. The menu provides a fresh modern twist and makes extensive use of Swan Valley produce. Taylor's is a great place for lunch or just a coffee catch up with a delicious selection of cakes on offer. The local art community is very well represented so picking up a little something for yourself or a special occasion gift is a good addition. I certainly took advantage of what was on offer, three Christmas presents now off the list. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Taylor's is not licensed which certainly does not diminish it's appeal. So if your looking for somewhere that little bit different consider Taylor's. You just might be pleasantly surprised, I know I was. Oh and for those who have a sweet tooth the chocolate factory is just...
Read moreI went on Saturday 27 January 2024 with a friend for lunch. I made a booking on 16 January 2024, when we got to the main entrance, I was told by wait staff that the reservation had only gotten to them that morning and it did not provide instructions whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. I showed the staff member my booking and showed her that I had selected to sit inside.
I ordered the Full Plate and asked for the gluten free option. I received my meal and after eating a little bit of the bacon and egg realised the bread had gluten. I took it back and was told a new plate is being made and the apology was not really sincere. When I received the gluten free version it was soaking in oil. I had to pat the bacon, mushrooms and chorizo on a napkin before eating it. I Could not eat the bread as it was soggy from the oil on the plate. My stomach was already triggered from the gluten on the first plate and then my stomach was off from all the oil for the rest of the day. I did not enjoyed my meal and it ruined my catch up with my friend. I was really disappointed with my experience...
