Dragon Bakery is a definite destination when you fancy a good coffee or a delicious cake. This bakery goes the extra yards to deliver some superb cakes, pies and freshly made snacks that will make you want to go back for more. Conveniently situated on Portobello Road, opposite the Woolworths shopping complex, it has a little outdoor sitting area and plenty of parking opposite. Sometimes they are busy and you may have to wait a short while, but service is always given with a smile. I was curious so I bought one of each and boy am I glad I did, the deep fried pie was amazing and it wasnāt oily at all, the batter is light and delicious. We also ordered a coffee and custard horn, both were fantastic. The staff are all great and the owner is super friendly, we had a great chat about his journey to perfect the deep fried pies.

However, I was given the option to have my satay chicken pie "deep fried or regular". I'm far too attached to my life to go deep fried but who knows they might be amazing - they're definitely fun to look at. Fat meaty pies encrusted in thick deep fried batter.
