Not air-conditioned but has split-open windows that push-up/pull-down for ventilation with ceiling fans, so probably unideal on a day of extreme heat. We visited on a not so hot Monday 3rd Jan Public Holiday where there was a 15% surcharge. Ordered 5 dishes to share between 5 adults and a toddler along with 4 beverages and paid just under $200, probably on the pricey side for a casual meal at a cafe/restaurant but understandable in the current climate of lack-of-staff with forever hiking pay-rise to keep existing staff. Steak sandwich ($25) was awesome and by far a standout dish that we'd definitely go back for. Warm Thai Beef Salad ($25) was drenched in sauce which would normally be fine by me but unfortunately far too salty in my personal opinion, and too warm of a dish on a summer day - would not order again. Fish and chips ($24) was on par with expectations, did not disappoint but not a standout either, and would probably order again as a share plate with a toddler. Tomato based Linguini(?) ($21) topped with feta(?) was a rather disappointing dish, despite being a descent serving, the flavours were neither here nor there and would never order again. Ceasar salad ($20) with salt pepper squid add-on for $6 was very dry and visually unappetising, and only had 4-5 pieces of squid, which definitely was not worth the money and would never order again. Mango smoothie ($7.9) with orange juice replacement as they ran out of mango nectar was a toddler favourite but overpriced for the simple blend of mango, ice cream and oj, and did not reorder despite a "more" request from the toddler. Also visited the kiosk next door, operated by the same kitchen on the other end for takeaway only, to order $5 flat-whites, which was more like a 20% surcharge on a $4.2 drink, and the coffee was so weak that it tasted very bland and diluted - undrinkable and would never order again. Overall, wouldn't visit again if I had the luxury of time to pack some picnic food/drinks, and in the unlikely event of a revisit, would stick to just a cold beer with a steak sandwich.

Beautiful Cafe, Beautiful Location, Beautiful Food and Beautiful Service! What more could you ask for? The waitress' at this cafe were accomodating and welcoming from the beginning to end. There was a wide range of different menu items that could suit people of all food specifications. Had a fair amount of seafood options which was very fitting for the lovely area we were in. My partner had the fettuccine, which was absolutely creamy and to die for. And I had the veggie stack which was amazing. We shared the bruschetta which was a nice addition to our lunch, very refreshing and light. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a lovely breakfast or lunch

Great Cafe - Great People - Great Food As a family we visit Walters River Cafe usually for breakfast and to start our day in the beautiful Point Walter Reserve. There is ample parking and lots of shaded grassed areas outdoors plus the added bonus of the sandy beaches on the river bank. A wonderful sand bar also allows you to walk out into the middle of the river for those amazing photo opportunities and interaction with the local wildlife - Black Swan, Ducks, Cormorants, Cockatoo etc. the list goes on.

What an incredibly disappointing experience. Used to be a loved family spot in a beautiful setting. Safe to safe will not be returning. The restaurant itself is not well maintained, waited for 1 hour (after being reassured twice prior to ordering it would only be approx. 30 min) for 3 salads which were average (Caesar salad came with a cold half-poached egg, haloumi on warm veggie salad was good and the warm Thai beef salad came with 5 small tough chunks of beef) a burger which came as a cut bun sitting on top of its contents ($28 burger consisting of a beef patty, bacon and an egg) with no sauce and to top it all off had to wait an additional 10 minutes for a serve of fish and chips which had been served to a different table then given back to us, all in a restaurant nowhere near capacity. Not sure why these sub-par meals took so long, we were the lucky ones though having been warned by other patrons they’d been waiting over 1.5hr, we saw many leaving due to the wait. Feel sorry for the single waitress who had to deal with the fallout of such prolonged and unnecessary wait times. Not good value for money or...

After waking up from finding that Trump is now POTUS, the only thing that could have cheered me up was a lovely brunch with family by the Swan River.

To my disappointment, our food arrived an hour and a half after our order was placed. In that time of waiting there was no communication from any of the staff as to when our food would be arriving, why there was a hold up or even a shred of a glance from staff. For context, the cafe was somewhat busy on a Sunday morning, but nothing that a typical Perth cafe could handle.

When our food arrived it was incredibly mid and one of the dishes was missing. After waiting so long we were so hungry only to be served food that was not indicative of the time spent to make it. We assumed that our missing dish would arrive shortly, but after another 10 minutes of waiting we eventually had to grovel to get attention from staff only to be told that they had missed the order entirely (again no apology given.)

I was so hungry that I had to hold myself back from EATING THE PETS!!

The end...
