Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Margaret River, Wise Winery is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable wine and dine experience. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by stunning views that stretch across the vineyards and rolling hills, creating a picturesque backdrop that sets the stage for a perfect day. The winery itself boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a beautifully designed tasting room that perfectly complements the natural beauty surrounding it. The staff at Wise Winery are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. They take the time to guide you through their exquisite selection of wines, sharing the stories behind each bottle and the meticulous process that goes into creating them. The wine selection is nothing short of spectacular. Each sip reveals the dedication and artistry that the Wise family has poured into their winemaking. From bold reds to crisp whites, every varietal is a testament to the unique terroir of the region. The standout for us was the Malbec, which was perfectly balanced and a hit with us. But it’s not just the wine that makes Wise Winery special; it’s the entire experience. The outdoor terrace offers a serene spot to enjoy a glass while soaking in the panoramic views, making it an ideal place for a leisurely afternoon. The winery also features an outstanding restaurant that serves up award-winning, delicious, locally sourced dishes that pair beautifully with their wines. We started our meal with house-made bread, the yellow curry cauliflower, which was light but flavorful and truly delicious. The grilled octopus was also cooked perfectly. For mains, we had the gnocchi that for any gnocchi lover was exceptional, being light and fluffy, browned off in butter, just yum. And then the seafood chowder arrived; oh no, this was delicious, creamy, and full of seafood; this is a dish we would return for time and time again. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or a Foodie, Wise Winery is a place where you can truly appreciate the art of having a long lunch. The combination of stunning scenery, exceptional wines, and warm hospitality makes it a standout destination in Margaret River. We left with not just a few bottles of wine, but also a hunger for more. Don’t miss the chance to visit this hidden gem – it’s an experience you won’t soon forget!

The view is pretty good down to the distant ocean, though not spectacular. And a winery lunch should look at some vines, but not here. The glass is expansive so you do feel a part of the outdoors. Staff were super friendly and accomodating even though very busy. The wine selection is extensive and some Nice drops. We did the tasting before lunch, the tasting selection is pretty limited, but what they had was nice. We chose a Malbec to take home. The spirits., Gin and pisco, were delicious. I particularly liked the Outback gin amd the Caffe Pisco. Unfortunately the food was just nice. You come to expect these places will deliver a taste sensation, but no. Nothing was disappointing, but neither was anything exceptional. It seemed to be a menu striving to be different without careful thought to the outcome. My Barramundi- which turned out to be snapper- was really perfect, crispy skin, just enough salt and timed brilliantly. But pairing it with a red curry sauce full of chunky potatoes was a waste of both. Fortunately the fish was resting on top and could be enjoyed separately. The olives to start were delicious, the burrata was fresh and served with some nice tomatoes. The poached salmon was oddly paired with a salad of leaves, blue cheese and candied walnuts. The octopus was treated with care and very tasty off the grill. All in all a “nice” lunch but not the sensation one might expect. But they were the only place serving on a Tuesday lunch.

Eight of us visited this "fancy" place around noon on 22 Sep. Collectively between us we have visited 15+ continents, countless countries and have tasted just about everything that can be tasted. We ordered several starters, chips beers and a bottle of wine. By the time we left we came up with an unanimous verdict. Here it is: Beers & wine were ok, as expected. The chips were expensive but ok. Thank you for that, guys. All portions were pathetically small (don't know why they are called "to share"?!), but at least they were very expensive and again, at least, we hardly knew what we were eating. Tongue was the most recognisible. Nobody, literally nobody, found the mushrooms in "something with mushrooms". They even brought us a few little tastless sample slivers of the alleged mushrooms, and we still struggled. Big plates with something miniscule and expensive in the middle was the common denominator. Obviously, we decided not to take another plunge by ordering lunch... :( Don't waste your time with this place. Don't even drive by. It is pompous and perhaps even think of itself as "fine dining", but that can't be further from the truth. No value for money. Culinary art in terms of taste is non existent. ZERO stars!

Stunning Location, Fine Wine, and Fantastic Food. Wise has it all, from when you park the car the views are breathtaking, the wine tasting on entry, was served by enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, they also make gin, which we intend to try next time, we were then met at the restaurant entrance by another member of staff, and quickly guided to our table, service was efficient and again knowledgeable staff on what was being served, advice etc. There was good vegetarian options and the menu in general was varied and exciting with local produce on offer. The Chargrilled Octopus was melt in the mouth, and the vegetarian option of Saltbush Falafel was equally so, Fried Gnocchi was the vegetarian main, beautifully presented and equally tasty, as was the Crispy Pork Belly, which was cooked to perfection, we shared a desert of Cafe Pisco Chocolate Mousse, a perfect end to and equally perfect lunch, we choose the Leaf Series Sauvignon Blanc which was one our favourite tipples from the tasting and the perfect accompaniment to our choices, we finished with a fresh ground coffee. How good is it? we have already booked for our next outing, and taking our friends with us. Wise is one of the South-West's hidden secrets tucked away on the capes, near Eagle Bay, it is quite simply beautiful. It should be on everyone's visit list, immerse yourself in the peace and beauty of its locations, indulge in fine wines and fine foods prepared and presented with care, and bask afterwords in the knowledge you have found one of those special places. Thank you to all the staff who have made this...

Historically Wise has been our go to restaurant for a special meal but we were really disappointed by our experience today. There had been a couple of negative reviews which we had seen but dismissed as we'd had such a good run with Wise in the past. In terms of food, we ordered the 300g steak (nearly $70), tagliatelle ($34), and gnocchi($34). Steak was ok but served with a cucumber cut in half which was more than puzzling. Not great presentation, not big on flavour. For the price you expect a perfectly cooked steak with tasty sides on the plate. The gnocchi was adequate in portion but that was about the only positive. The gnocchi pieces were very doughy, and no flavour. The pumpkin puree it was served on was so bland I would give it to a baby as their first food. The tagliatelle had adequate amount of squid included but lacked flavour. The restaurant was very quiet, we were one of two tables indoors. There were lots of staff around but none were enthusiastic or particularly helpful. For example, no one checked if the meals were ok and we had to ask whenever we wanted more water rather than it being topped up. My mum at the end of the meal said that the ice in the water was the best part of the meal (we agreed unanimously). Mind you we had to ask for that ice because the water was warm. The restaurant has amazing views of vineyards and ocean but needs some aircon and fans installed. I hope the restaurant can lift its menu and execution of dishes to match the great views soon. Until then we'll...
