Visited Amelia Park Restaurant for lunch (2 couples). Restaurant has a classy vibe and a nice view of the gardens & vineyard beyond. We booked an indoor table as the weather was a bit uncertain, but the outside tables would be perfect on a nice day. Gabriella, our hostess, was very attentive and friendly. My friend's wife was a bit under the weather, and she went the extra mile to see that she was looked after with warm water, ginger, etc. Highly appreciated! For entree we had the "Goats cheese pastry with black truffle" $20 (2 pcs per serve). Texture and fusion of the ingredients was amazing! For mains we had the pan roasted fish $48 (generous portion), Herbed fish wings $38, Smoked duck breast $30 and I had the grilled octopus $32. All dishes were scrumptious. Only negative comment was that the octopus was overly salty, but it was very tender. For dessert we had the "Crème caramel & sticky date" and "Warm chocolate & almond pudding" to share. Both desserts were very delectable! We had chardonnay and merlot to complement the dishes. All in all, a very enjoyable lunch. Would recommend booking well in advance. Tip: Book a wine tasting at the adjoining Amelia Park winery prior to lunch.

What an experience. Amelia park is a culinary master piece. We had the started with some cocktails, a G&T and an Old Fashioned. They were the main reason for the 4 star rating - the cocktails were nice but not for the price we paid. We then had the Petite vegetable crudités and the Wood grilled Fremantle octopus. We loved the Macadamia Dip that the vegies came with. The octopus was cooked well, but again the sauce and herbs were what made the dish. Next we had the Pan seared tiger prawns and the Cold smoked Hiramasa kingfish. The Kingfish was the favourite meal of the day, the like smoke was amazing. We finished with the lamb shoulder which we shared. This was enough for four and paired superbly with the reserve Cab Sav. For desert we had the mini doughnuts which were a real treat. Overall the price is not as exy as some places in bigger cities. Its romantic, the service is amazing and the view is spectacular we really enjoyed it.

Beautiful location, atmosphere and good service. Unfortunately the food taste and presentation did not match up. Portions were very good, won’t go hungry. Tartare was fresh thankfully but tasteless. Did not go well with the potato crisps that looked like it might be from a bag. It was also in a pile on a too small plate. Octopus presentation was again thrown and piled on a too small plate. Looks unappetising but tasted ok. Carrots presentation not great but tasted ok. Lamb looked a beautiful pink medium rare but tasted gamey, kale was over fried in too much oil. Cauliflower puree was good. Very disappointed as I had a much higher expectation but if you go just expecting to be fed it’s ok. Will not recommend anyone to go there for a winery fine dining experience.

I had really high expectations of this so highly rated restaurant. Unfortunately I cannot join the fan club. It was my husband's birthday and we were looking for a fine dining experience. Upon arrival we stopped at the wine tasting cellar to make a decision on what wine to order, as we are not familiar with the Amelia Park variety. I don't even think we approached the counter enough when a fairly young lady, replaced the Hello there, with " There is a $10 charge on the tastings. We didn't even bother looking at the wine list. Not so much for the $10, but the attitude . Arriving at the restaurant, first impression was surprising, as the tables were all lined up in a way , it looked more like an eatery, than a fine restaurant. Chairs were comfortable and the waitress seemed keen. The food was deliciously prepared, and my husband's steak was fabulous. True it is classified as a share meal, but we ordered it for him alone. Lucky we did. My meal was the chicken dish, the likes I haven't seen before. Underneath the leaves canopy were two (yes two) miniature pieces of rolled up bites, half of which was stuffing. There is no exaggeration, the two pieces were for small bites. That was a main meal for almost $40. Lucky we ordered some side vegetables, as appart from a few leaves there was nothing on the plate. The have taken the big white french plate with a smigein of food in the middle to a whole new level. Coming from Europe, being accustomed to generous servings, this was insulting. I honestly thought I made a mistake, and ordered an entree. From here on our keen waitress had a dramatic air change. We weren't complaining or showing real discontent, merely asking if it indeed was a main meal. It was also accompanied by a "glass" if white wine we ordered, and didn't get a chance to taste, that the waitress were literally squeezing out the last drops from the bottle at our table, which not even close met the even otherwise ridiculous portion they call a glass of wine. Her shaking the bottle in front of us, took us by now right out of any celebratory mood. From that point on we became the "afwul" customer, and our waitress has gone from assertive to defencive, right through dissmissive. I was very hungry so I ordered dessert, which was very nice, and by then I really needed some good sugar induced endorphins. No, we didn't enjoy neither our experience, nor my food, and in spite of the fact 5gat we never actually complained, merely asked questions without any hue of sarcasm or cinnicism, it came infinite miles away from the total experience we had just the previous day at Wise Winery...

Disappointing.. When we arrived we were greeted by the maitre d and her first question was if any of us had any food allergies. We were very impressed and our friend informed the maitre d about her chili and salmon allergies and we were told this wouldn't be a problem.

When we got to our table the floor was very messy but the view was great and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. When we ordered our meals we reminded the waiter of the chili allergy which he added to the notes for the kitchen. The food arrived and looked amazing but unfortunately it did have chili in our friend's meal which she picked up relatively quickly but still caused a mild asthma attack.

The waiter was very apologetic and even showed us the note he wrote to the kitchen and offered our friend a coffee. We did not make a scene and finished our meal as best we could while tending to our friend.

When we went to pay, the maitre d asked if everything was alright and when we mentioned the chili incident she said we should have told her, and when we explained that we did; both to her and the waiter, she became very dismissive basically told us it was our mistake. At no stage did she apologise.

Very disappointed with the way this was handled and we will not go back here again. Cannot recommend going here if you have...
