Red Nectar — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

Red Nectar is a really nice restaurant tucked away up a staircase on the first floor of Helensburgh Town Centre and its a real hidden gem.

Absolutely fantastic food, really delicious rich meaty goodness. My wife had pork cutlet and I had beef cheeks, both were a good size, filling but just enough room for their delicious desserts - also which are a really good size.

Incredible wine list, and fancy whiskies for after. The mocktails for people like me who don't drink are original, refreshing & tasty.

I gave 4* rather than 5* for service as t was just a little slow but I think they might have been a person down, and they did have a large group in the back ti be fair. The staff were incredibly cordial & professional so no complaints.

We would definitely come back next time we're down here, the menu looks like it will always have something new and yummy to offer. Also very good value pricing ($45 for main course, $10 each additional couse) considering the quality of the food.

I recently booked 21 of my interstate family and friends for a surprise birthday dinner. Daniel was extremely helpful with both the booking and the suggestions he made for the flow of the night. He and his absolutely professional, friendly team , not only provided the best service, but the quality and presentation of the food we had was outstanding. Everything was a huge hit with everyone. I have (along with many of the guests present) eaten in some of the best restaurants around the world, and the food we had on Friday night was on a par or better to any of them. It was simply beautiful. We are so lucky to have such a top quality, reasonably priced restaurant in Helensburgh - which we already knew, but to have every single member of our party rave about Red Nectar - was fabulous. My husband and l went to their French 6 course degustation night with matching wines/spirits recently and Dan once again did not disappoint... all courses from the Canapes with French champagne to start to the dessert at the end with choice of either French cognac or a sweet rich dessert wine were superb. Manu, guest speaker, described each wine/spirit as each course was presented and was excellent choice of speaker..So easy to talk with! Tastebud sensations all throughout the night...what more can I say delicious ,delicious , delicious!! We will definately book in when he holds another one of these nights! But I'm sure we will return again before then as have never had a bad meal here... everything on the menu is always...
