Very disappointing as we were refused entry unless we joined as members. The 15km radius the club has instigated, rather then the legal 5km, still puts our home outside the circle but apparently as we were told all of Engadine is excluded. The displayed map does not show streets so it's impossible to prove. Apparently it doesnt matter. It was kinda rude the way we were treated at reception. We waited for family to arrive who are local and signed us in. We were then shocked that food and drink has a 18% premium on top of members rates for all non members. Seems very excessive and uninviting for visitors to the area. Seems the club actively discourages visitors which is really strange for an out of the way club. We always support local clubs as they usually benefit the local community. I guess next time we go to Helensburgh we will go to the pub or local restaurant. It's just annoying you have to join every club. It just becomes rediculous.

Average service (smile it's free) staff where on auto pilot and vague...minus the manager I assume only cause he was in a suit and rudely cut in constantly with myself and friends in a negative tone. Bar was swamped by insects. The menu was a bad print out and hard to read...also helps in hiding the fact that the non members pricing is not listed (Fair trading) only right at the end you see the 18% surcharge. Food came out with raw chips and soggy salad. Good for locals...bad and uninviting to guests.

Went in for a pit stop after a hike. The establishment to my surprise was really clean and well maintained. The staff at the reception seemed so welcoming and friendly. Walked around a bit. Had a bite to eat, since cold ones while the rest enjoyed coffee and hot chocolate. The staff at the bar were great. I love in Sydney so don't frequent here much but I highly recommend this club. Keep up the good work guys

As a first time customer the service was very unwelcoming and uncomfortable. We arrived at 11:50 and sat down at the bistro area. At 12 my partner and I ordered garlic bread, chicken schnitzel, and battered flat head which came to $70 (not an issue). After an hour of waiting we noticed that most people who came in after us had received theirs orders. We thought we should just take our receipt to the register just to make sure the order went through as we understand that sale systems can sometimes muck up as we have both worked in retail. When it was our turn my partner began to ask the young man if our order had gone through but she was quickly and rudely interrupted by an older woman in the bistro. She said “In case you haven’t noticed we are very busy”. My partner then went to say that is okay, we understand, however she was cut off again and the women said “all you have to do is look around, like seriously” looking at us like we have just said something awful. We just chose to walk away as there was clearly no point in asking a simple question. We walked away feeling very uncomfortable and like we shouldn’t be eating here. When we got back to the table, after 5 minutes the other people at the table with us all had received their orders. We waited another half an hour and then decided to check again. At this point everyone at our table had finished their food and wanted to leave. When we went to check, we asked another man who was running the tickets. He looked on the shelf and ours was there waiting. We said thank you and left to go back to our table. As we started eating, we noticed that most of the food was very cold, and when I cut into the fish it was raw. We decided it would be best not to tell the staff, as only asking if our order went through warranted a very rude response. All in all we absolutely no issue with the hour and a half wait, but considering the price here, we would think that the service would be at least good, and that seafood was served cooked.

I just hope the owner takes this review and some others I’ve seen and tries to improve their service, as no one likes giving a place a...

Really disappointed at the service here especially at their bistro, we had ordered garlic bread, schnitzel and a battered flathead, it was busy, but after an hour waiting my partner and I went up to double check we had ordered right. When I had started to ask the boy at the register a woman had come up when I had started to say that we’d been waiting about an hour (I wasn’t angry or rude, it was busy and sometimes technology mucks up) she interrupted me and rudely told me that it was going to be a hours wait, if I remember correctly she said “it’s busy in case you haven’t noticed, take a look around”. I wasn’t there to argue so we went beach to our seats, after another 30 minutes I went to check again, this time asking another person when it miraculously happened to just be made. Even then when we got the food some parts were cold, which is just annoying considering the price. I’m not upset about the time it took, it was busy I understood that, but the treatment that the staff gave was...
