Pulled Pork Benny Wrap: A Disappointment from Start to Finish
I ordered a meal from Jamaica Blue today, expecting a satisfying take on Eggs Benedict in a wrap, but what I received was utterly inedible. Eggs Benedict has certain essentials: a generous serving of hollandaise sauce, perfectly poached eggs with runny yolks, and quality ingredients that complement each other. When these elements are put into a wrap, they still need to deliver on freshness and flavor. Unfortunately, this wrap missed the mark on every level.
The wrap I received appeared pre-made and stale, seemingly days old. There was almost no sauce, leaving the wrap dry and unappealing. The pulled pork was similarly dry and lacked flavor, and I counted only three tiny pieces of bacon in the half I openedâfar from the hearty portion you'd expect. But the real letdown was the egg. Instead of poached eggs, as you would expect in a Benny dish, I found a rubbery fried egg that was an absolute affront to the dish. The egg seemed like it had been fried days before, stored in a fridge, and then tossed into the wrap when assembled. The egg white was unpleasantly rubbery, and the yolk, originally runny, had turned into an unappetizing, jelly-like substance resembling the texture of Turkish delightâwithout any of the flavor. It was a mess, and I couldnât eat more than a bite.
Pre-making wraps isnât inherently bad; itâs understandable for the sake of convenience. But when doing so, freshness is key. Preparing the wraps the night before is acceptable, but not at the expense of the food's quality. Eggs should always be cooked fresh, not left to languish in a fridge. The execution here failed on all fronts, turning what should have been a tasty, comforting meal into an unappealing disaster. This is not the standard I expect, and itâs certainly not something I...
Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews and usually if I have a bad experience I would just let it slide but in this case I would much rather bring it to awareness, I come here quite a lot for my morning coffee and itâs usually always amazing but today I was half way through my coffee when I took a sip and got a huge chunk, at first I thought it was just coffee grinds that had been stuck together but then I had to spit it out and unfortunately it was a dead fly. I feel disgusted that I had been drinking it and then had the fly in my mouthđ¤Ž. I donât put the staff at fault as they are always so so lovely and accommodating and was probably just a one off but I do feel the need to bring this to attention so they can check their...
Read moreI recently visited Jamaica Blue to get a takeaway breakfast roll for my family and had an exceptional experience. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the cafe was spotlessly clean and professionally run. The bacon and egg burger was excellent, and the presentation for takeaway was great. What really impressed me was the large display of menu options, showcasing a wide range of delicious main courses, snacks, and desserts. The wait time was minimal, and the overall service was top-notch. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend Jamaica Blue to anyone looking for a great...
