Dropped through the other day to fill up the fuel tank, decided to go to Coolabah Tree Cafe for a coffee. Ordered a soy flat white. The older man behind the counter took my order and made my coffee and for some stupid reason, he put chocolate powder on my flat white (can tell he's an awful barista from that alone). As he handed it to me, I asked if the chocolate powder had any dairy in it, as I'm lactose intolerant. "I don't know" he replied in a very stern voice. So I replied back in an equally stern voice "well I ordered a non dairy milk because I can't consume dairy". He then grabbed my coffee and threw it violently into the bin. "Alright I'll make it again!" He snapped at me.
When I got it, it barely tasted like coffee. Weakest and worst tasting coffee I've had in years. I work for an RTO that trains baristas, so Ive tried awful coffees made by first time baristas on a daily basis, and his coffee was worse than all of them.
You don't just need training in making coffees buddy, you also need some training in being a better person. Your...
Read moreWhat can I say? Terrible coffee terrible " batista" and I use the word barista loosely. If I was not paying attention my soy latte would have been a curdled latte as well as being contaminated with a filthy wand coated in lactose. I had to ask to have the wand wiped to which she replied "yeah yeah" and used the far wand which was clean, but failed to purge residual water out. Which was then placed in jug. I then had to ask her not to overheat the soy as it will curdle, to which a properly trained Barista would have known that soy should not be heated passed 55 degrees. I was unable to drink the latte. To which I left on the counter as I walked out.
Her mannerisms was appalling, she needed to listen to what I was saying as I cannot afford to become ill due to ones incompetence. Will be giving this Cafe a wide...
Read moreI recently visited this cafe where I encountered a situation that regrettably detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience. The service provided by a senior staff member was not in line with the expected standards of professionalism. This individual made unwarranted and tactless remarks about a child in the vicinity, without realising that the child in question was mine. Such behavior, characterised by a lack of sensitivity and decorum, is absolutely unacceptable in a customer service setting.
Despite this unfortunate incident, I must commend the cafe as the rest of the staff were pleasant. The food was cooked fresh and served hot.
It is disheartening when the actions of a single individual with poor interpersonal skills can tarnish the reputation of an otherwise decent...
