Pizzeria Messner's — Restaurant in Alpbach

This was, hands down, one of the most insulting dining experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered chicken pasta. The first plate came drowned in a spice that was not listed in the menu. The waiter tried to convince me it was not there (coriander) while I was literally having a mild allergic reaction. They replaced it — and what came out was a bowl of plain penne with a couple of cherry tomatoes floating around. No chicken. Not a shred. Nothing but bland carbs. If this is their idea of “chicken pasta,” it’s a scam, not a meal. Any competent restaurant would be embarrassed to send this out of the kitchen. Instead, they served it with a straight face, as if customers wouldn’t notice they’d been ripped off. Pathetic. Avoid this place...

We went to this restaurant three times during our stay in Alpbach. All three times the food was delicious, nothing bad to point out. I had Mafiosa, Capriciossa and Quatro Stagione and my favorite was Mafiosa. My friends tried other pizzas, vegan pizzas too, and they were all really good (BBQ, Vespa, Bosco - although we were missing cherry tomatoes, Perfetto, Tiroler - our least favorite from listed). The only problem was the waiter - he was really nice but he was also pretty slow, we waited 15 minutes for payment and some people were waiting 10+ minutes for him to come and they left because of that. Very bad experience at this place unfortunately. Waiter was very rude, rolling his eyes when I asked a room temperature bottle after he brought a cold one. When asking about the drink menu and asking what’s « balis basil » his first response is « it’s not for you » ??? Waitress equally unwilling to help as I was asking is they have edelweiss on the menu. Food was super salty, fish drenched in oil…...
